Need advice re: online bookstores
I've been a major library user in recent years. Just not enough room around here for more books! But it's time I support our left thinking authors more fully and I'd like to find some good book sellers online that also discount their books. Can you all please clue me in on any that also support Dems.

I can shop at our local Tattered Cover that's a great store in Denver. But they don't always discount. Perhaps going to Costco would be the best way to go. I just want to 'support our own'.

Thanks in advance!

1. Try Powell's.com. Salon.com frequently mentions them. But
dunno about prices.

12. Powell's has
Lynne Cheney's masterpiece, "Sisters" available this month. Great..we should buy a load of them and donate them to the churches in honor of Dickeydoo! After all, we believe in education.

3. Costco is a good option.
Decent prices, and the bulk of their political contributions go to the Dems.

4. abebooks.com
I've been buying from this place for a long time now. They have a great selection to say the very least. Prices are competitive as you can pick and choose who you buy from.

6. There is a consortium of locally-owned booksellers
with a website, and when you order from them, the nearest local store to you ships the book.

I can't remember the name of it, so I'll have to try to look it up for you.

I remember when they had several pages of ads in the New Yorker. That's how I found out about them.

I got good service, and our locally-owned Book People shipped the book I ordered promptly.

9. For price, try Best Book Buys
http://www.bestwebbuys.com/books/

But if you want to give business to liberal people go to Powells. They advertise on liberal radio shows.

13. Amazon has been very supportive of Dems.
At least their employees have. There's a repug contribution or two in there, but overall, it looks like they're acutally our own.
