Make Your Prediction: Kurtz On CNN at 11:30 EDT
Will the master of media critique cast his critical eye on several CNN faux paus this week?

It's already been billed that the top story will be the Iraq invasion (feigned outrage anyone???). Then, how much time will he devote to the Letterman/CNN/White House/Crotty kid mess where Dave all but unmasked the hotwire between the White House (Come out Scotty) and the director's chair at CNN in Atlanta. Also will he touch on the Krugman/Wolfman Blitzer flare-up?

Then after he spends his total 60 seconds on these issues, which right wing shill will he bring on to debunk everything? Jonas Goldberg anyone?

Cheers from Chicago

3. Well, Stephanopolous already erased any good that might come
out of the Letterman brouhaha... he just showed the snippet, then the kid in Letterman's show reading Bush*'s letter... and nothing else. It ended up looking like Bush had a wonderful sense of humor and a plus for the president!!!!
George Stephanopolous is a real wimpy jerk. Sorry he might be thought of as a democrat.

5. Those People Are Feckless And Scary
I first saw the kid on Olberman...reading the letter with his old man breathing down his neck. I joked to my 16 year old son how that kid must have caught hell. My son chipped in, bets are he lost his video games and MTV for the week.

Then the kid's on Letterman and it was extremely uncomfortable to watch. Dave tried to avoid the politics and keep it on the comedy aspect and these goons had to use it as a GOOP political commercial. The uncomfort on Dave and the audience ran the entire show.

I'm not surprised the glance-off...as it exposes not only those in this regime who pull the strings, but those whose strings are pulled.

7. Nary A Peep...
Guess Howie couldn't get an official from CNN to speak on either topic.

Sheesh...there's David Frum spinning on Fallujah.

Now I don't recall a JFK corpse story this week...Howie need to make something up???

8. I went back to "This Week"
To be honest I find Reliable Sources to be one of the worst news magazine shows on TV.

9. But Georgie is not much better. Did you see what he did with
the Letterman/CNN controversy?....nothing. Destroyed any reference to that event, and made Bush come out smelling like roses!!!!

11. I think there is complicity
between these top network news shows. They don't generally bash each other. I think except for Krugman no other major journalists are going to touch it frankly.

10. Ah...Kurtz Slams Murdoch...That's Why The JFK Jr. Thing
What self-serving bullshit. Kurtz sucking up to the bosses at CNN & WaPo in one swoop...bashing Murdoch for publishing another scandalous JFK book...

Again...who cares.

Where's the Krugman story, Howie?????

12. Well they showed all the clips
but right at the end of the show, so no commentary except Howie noting that fame can be fleeting....Thanks for gem Howie!

13. No surprise... Kurtz glossed over CNN's explanation...
How did CNN make the "mistake" of thinking The White House called?

14. GIGO...Garbage In, Garbage Out
I figure Dave will now drop this, until the next episode of regime spin (they have him on their radars...Enemies list anyone??) and hopefully keep finding those gems of Bunnypants video for our late night viewing.

As far as CNN, they lost a ton of respect from me...a 20 plus year viewer. Kurtz, of course, was going to gloss over the thing...couldn't ignore it since it did make so much noise elsewhere.

There used to be a website by former CNN employees...I wonder if that's still up. It'd be interesting to one day hear the real story of what went on...who called who and so on. Probably will turn up in someone media book someday.

Regarding Krugman, I sure hope he doesn't let that slam at Clarke by Blitzer fade away. Here was a major anchor...being billed so by CNN...passing along slander as fact in the course of a serious interview. He misquoted Krugman and then gave a testy and backhanded appology.

Methinks there's a letter to someone brewing inside me...just not sure where to direct the scud yet.
