1. If by "funding" you mean "advertising on," I'd have to say yes.
If you're hearing ads for "Chappelle's Show" on Air America, I guarantee you Comedy Central ain't getting them run for nothing!

11. The Army is running paid PSAs
The Army is running all those "Graduate from high school" ads you're hearing. Those are paid ads.

12. Connect Some Of Our Dots...
One of Comedy Central's biggest program suppliers/movers and shakers is Lorne Michaels and his Broadway video. Needless to say Lorne is very close with Al and is very supportive of AA (as well as most of the New York comedy community).

Also, remember, Comedy Central is owned by Viacom...Clear Channel's major radio competitor. Methinks they're both dealing in a little on this game (Clear Channel by putting AA on KPOJ and XM) and Viacom through advertising. This way if there are numbers/dollars to be made, they will see them first-hand and decide if they should invest more.

While I despise both companies...Clear Channel FAR more than Viacom (at least Mel Karamzin hasn't put the clampers on Stern or other yakers on his stations and doesn't sponsor Reich Wing radio like Cheap Channel does)...for AA to grow and succede, they need to make alliances with both companies.

Cheap Channel has a bunch of useless AM signals in major markets all over the country...ideal for AA and hopefully both groups are discussing giving the format a go on those signals. Viacom has a bunch of dogs as well. With the network's solid launch, and that it's actually going 24/7, now the game is to expand and find a niche within the broadcast world. Stay tuned.
