4. Letterman Rocks!

If you didn't get to see the footage of the kid, I hope it shows up somewhere soon. It's funny as hell.

Boondocks is also great.

6. Methinks they should not have tried to steamroll Mr Letterman...
...on the yawning boy footage.

That's like waving a red flag at an angry bull...one which just happens to have 25 million nightly viewers.

11. Huh!?!
Edited on Fri Apr-02-04 10:49 AM by YNGW
CNN admitted they lied when they claimed the WH said it was edited footage.
So, how do you figure?

12. Point to me where they say they "lied"...
...they claimed it was a mere mistake.

But where did it come from in the first place? And (as Paul Krugman points out today), it bears a suspicious resembalnce to other occasions where the WH pushed out some horseshit line to cover their ass over anything that might make * look bad, but then backtracked when it became a big deal itself (i.e., the "Clinton trashed the WH" lies, the "phone call on a secure channel/Air Force 1 was a target on 9/11" line, etc.).

And how would it look for CNN to admit it was putting unverified WH spin on the air?

So maybe it really was a mistake, but as the Clinton days taught us, where there's smoke... there's a collossal pile if steaming elephant dung.
:nopity:

Lied. Mistake. Either way it was a misrepresentation of the truth. And to say they were trying to "steamroll Letterman" has no basis in fact, so my quetion still stands, which is "How do you figure?".

It's all a bunch of BS that should have never happened. If this is any indication of how things are done at CNN, someone there needs to get their act together.

8. Let's see, they've alienated the Stern audience, now Letterman's.....

and no doubt in the fullness of time they will achieve seriously
pissing off Leno.

Are these guys political genius' or what? :dunce:

Seriously, its amazing how the White House's first reponse to anything
is LIE and ATTACH. Don't even think how petty it will look, or how the lying
will be exposed, or even that the issue is trivial, just go for it!

13. What's most revealing about this is:
1) that he's doing this bush-bashing all the time, and so openly, in such a huge public forum, and...
2) the audience reaction. You say big cheers? Indeed! A VERY intriguing barometer of public opinion, that one.

Besides, the viewing public watching that will VERY DEFINITELY take note of the audience response. What? They're CHEEERING? Especially if it appears as though they're not being egged on by some applause cue. Things like that further enable the drip-drip-drip effect.

This is GREAT!
