2. Letterman says that CNN was contacted by the WH!!!
Edited on Thu Apr-01-04 11:56 PM by alg0912
He says he has inside info...

Playing Kagan's apology now...

The kid, I believe his name is Tyler Coddy(?), is going to be a guest on Letterman tomorrow!!! :bounce:

Now playing a clip called "George W Bush's Inspiration to America":

clip of Bush saying snottily: "I don't like to take tests either. That's too bad...":eyes:

Now a clip wishing Kerry well (w/ his shoulder) with also a plea to Rush for spare pain killers! :D "Hook a brother up!"

yesterday that CNN was contacted by the White House.

Now he's going over Kagan's apology to him, showing it.

12. they "fessed up" yet they are still lying
that is arrogance.
lets count the lies:

1. the kid wasn't there at all, we was digitally overlayed
2. the kid was there, but he was still overlayed on the video
3. there was a misunderstanding, the whitehouse didn't call

that's three obvious lies - three unnecessary lies. It has never been clearer than this how much they feel compelled to lie to us.

I think there should be a multi million dollar fine for this. There should be some explanation on their part. the excuse about the "miscommunication" is really shameful on their part.

Also, Top Ten Questions you would want to ask Condi Rice (as many as I could get down)...

#10 - Did Bush ever hurt himself trying to pronounce your name?

#6 - Did you ever order the Condi Rice at Chi Chi's?

#4 - Where'd you get that cool Halliburton sweatshirt?

And the #1 question: What kind of jobs will you and Bush be looking for in 2005?

:D

27. Started out as a fun vid clip on Letterman. I think it's something more
now, with WH calling to spin their lies and CNN dancing their jig, then shamelessly covering for them when they were busted when Letterman held his ground.

WH (Rove/McLellan) should be questioned and made to confirm or deny whether they called CNN on this!

30. We need to do some digging in to the supposed "miscommunication"
who do we call? Can we just call CNN and ask them to clarify what was meant by miscommunication?

Probably it was just that it was someone from the white house who later recanted and said "I don't want you to say the call came from the white house"

#2 question - where did they ever get the idea that the video was faked, if the whitehouse didn't call? And if they had no proof - which they obviously did not - why make a statement with no evidence?

#3 question - how did they get the idea that the whitehouse called, if in fact, they didn't?

#4 how did they arrive at the second version "he was there but not on camera" version of they story if they also had no evidence for that?

As dave said - something really stinks about this whole thing. I know Dave was a believer in the war because of being a NYer, but then he eventually woke up. This guy is pobably doing the 2nd most damage to Bush, next to Bush himself...

really did call him...so, why not just email his show? They probably won't answer you, but it's worth a shot. Ask them who told him that, then find that guy.

31. Letterman has been on a roll!
Hes always went after Bush. After the lame heart jokes and wipeing his glasses on his producers sweater..And something I COMPLETELY understand he let up after 9/11 and went back to stale Clinton Jokes but slowly he started to get relentless after bush and now its come to a head
CNN blinked and Letterman held his ground..Too good.
Ive always loved Dave and glad to see him when hes on fire

36. Reality Check
First, CNN has a bureau right in the White House...it's plugged in 24/7 to Atlanta. That's where Jon King usually works out of...hangs in the cubicle all day and then runs outside for the stand-up on the West Lawn.

My bets are the White House CNN crew had the tube on, or it was playing elsewhere in the White House...someone in the regime saw it, or something drew someone's attention...shit was then given to the CNN staffer at the WH who then got on the horn to Atlanta where Kagan was.

IIRC, Kagan made her White House remarks following a commercial break...at least 60...maybe even 120 or 180 seconds...plenty of time for lots of communications to go on between DC & Control Room and Kagan. You could see when she came back she was not quite "set"...and jumped right into the explanation since it was surely the hot topic on that set.

I'm no fan of Kagan...smarmy newsbabe...but she's not the culprit here. It's one of a couple people...the TD (Technical Director) or whomever was on the other end of Kagan's headset. Another could be whomever was working the desk in Washington for CNN...the one who relayed that the "confirm"...as I'm sure that was asked for...this is how the network always runs quick checks on stories and the regime always has someone nearby to "answer questions". Or, the most likely, was whomever was in the White House communications center running the spin operations that day...the one who all but dictates what the networks cover. This is the person with the coveted "access key"...who gets the scoops and the best positions at the photo ops. Yep...me smells a McClelland at work here. Good goin' Scotty!!!
