Alan Colmes...what just happened?

I got sent home from class -- it was raining hard as I was driving home (we're babies in Southern Cal and wouldn't know a real storm if it bit us in the...). Things were sur-real. I turned on Alan Colmes for the first time -- he was just added to Sirius Left (I spent a great deal of $ getting Sirius - and have enjoyed Thomm Hartman, Lynn Samuels, Ed Schultz, the Young Turks). Anyway, Alan begins by saying he doesn't know if he is a liberal any more, didn't know if he was a Democrat any more... Started talking about how he couldn't vote for John Kerrey. Started talking up George Bush. I went into total shock -- and punched the radio off. I apologize to all on this board who warned me about Colmes...but I thought I would give him a chance. Explain, please!

every point he made was backed by his previous positions... He's just come to the reality that all of us already knew. There was nothing he said ideologically that was divergent from views he's expressed in the past. He's just not really a liberal. He's a moderate... who is a doormat for Sean Hannity and has absolutely zero pull in topic selection designed to always put him on the defensive and apologizing. I like that he admitted it, and I don't think he should be on the "left" station for XM because of it... though I guess they don't have a "middle" station for politics.

Now we just need Faux News to admit they aren't balanced.

As partisan as it really is, Air America seems to have driven this guy out.

A good April Fools joke should at least make you say, "No way... Is this for real?" It should almost, but not quite exceed the bounds of credibility. The challenge, after all, is to make people believe something shocking so you can nail them in the end with a raucous "April Fools!".

When I read what Colmes said, I thought "He's just another DINO showing his true colors." Where's the fun in that?
