I've looked everywhere for a link or a story, but evidently, this one is too new.

On the radio this morning driving to work, I heard that here in the Metroplex, (North Richland Hills this time), we had another wingnut refusing to dispense birth control to a married mother of 2 who ran out of pills. Because of her religious beliefs, of course.

This time it was at a CVS Pharmacy. Time to start writing more letters!

I will not be happy until this holier than thou dipshit is fired.
If I can find an official story I'll post it as an addendum here.

And I have just as much of a problem with anyone who denies people access to their lawfully prescribed medication.

I also have a big problem with their official anti-gay stance, which I know is not shared by a lot of individual Catholics.

at least it does in the context of their other beleifs. The church welcomes gays, so long as they aren't having sex. Well, that's because as far as the church is concerned, sex is ONLY for making more catholic babies - nothing else. They don't let straight couples have sex for fun either.

so at least they're consistant on it. i don't think that it's the case that, unlike a lot of rw fundie religions, that they hate gays.

I am in Wichita Falls, TX. I've just seen some threatening looks so far. Although I've noticed some new scratches on my car.

And actually, I haven't seen too many Bush-Cheney stickers yet. People around here assume that everyone is voting for dubya anyway, so they don't "advertise"

We have a very active Baptist church here. They are trying to ban books they consider too liberal from our library. So, I am just waiting for them to protest in front of pharmacies who dispense birth control.

There was a family physician on the naval base who refused to prescribe bc pills due to religious beliefs.
