We are warning you, Daschle, not to investigate 9/11.
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 10:55 PM by TruthIsAll
We are warning you, Daschle, not to investigate 9/11.

An investigation will hinder the war effort.

We want Kissinger to head up the Commission.

We will only allocate $3 million to investigate 9/11. But we need $200 billion to pay Halliburton, Carlyle and Bechtel for Iraq. And an extra $130 billion for Medicare. Sorry about that.

We did everything we possibly could to prevent 9/11.

John O'Neil was not told to stop investigating the Bin-Laden/Saudi/Big Oil connection. But he is dead now so we cannot have his testimony to back us up.

The President does not recall meeting with Clarke in private in which he told him Iraq! Saddam! Find a connection.

The President says that he probably did meet with Clarke.

The President says that yes, he did meet with Clarke.

We decided that the Hart-Rudman Report was inoperative. Cheney would draft a new one.

We decided that the Clinton strategy was inoperative and half-assed. We would develop a new strategy.

The War on Terror was a critical concern of ours. That's why it was discussed in two out of a hundred meetings prior to 9/11.

We never considered that they would use airplanes as missiles into buildings, even though the 'Lone Gunman' episode on Fox in early '01 showed exactly that. And even though a simulation planned on the morning of 9/11 managed by Cheney would also.

The President does not testify.

The President will only testify in closed session for no more than one hour before the two commission heads.

The President will not testify under oath and will only do so in closed session for no more than one hour before the two commission heads.

Richard Clarke is a liar. He's just in it for the money. But we will not charge him with perjury.

Condoleeza Rice will not testify because of our commitment to the Constitutional Principle of Separation of Powers (except for the Supreme Court in Bush vs. Gore, of course)

Condoleeza will testify in closed session but not under oath.

Condoleeza will testify in open session but not under oath.

Condoleeza will testify in open session and under oath.

Condoleeza will testify in open session and under oath but cannot be called to testify again.

In fact, no one from the WH can be called to testify again.

President Bush will testify, but only in private and not under oath, and only along side Vice President Cheney.

President Bush will testify, but only in private and not under oath, along side Vice President Cheney, but cannot be called to testify again.

Although President Clinton and Al Gore are testifying, they refuse to accept their role in 9/11. They should testify in public, under oath, and separately.

It is really all Clinton's fault. He should not have held meetings every day on Bin Laden and terrorist threats. He only bombed Bin Laden's camps once. He should have continued to bomb, even though Senators Hatch and Lott told him not to Wag the Dog. He could have Wagged the Dog some more. But he wimped out. He was too busy defending himself in the Impeachment..

The reason we invaded Iraq was because Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda and had definite thoughts about possible plans to develop WMD.

One thing Clarke said is true. We will get Bin Laden. In October. No Surprise.

6. Not a bad sample of the cooperation that BushCo...
...has given to getting to the bottom of what went wrong with national security which could have prevented 9-11 from happening. Oh yes, please note that since 9-11, there has not been another 9-11 which means that we are doing every thing right now, thanks to the $1.3 trillion in tax cuts and getting rid of Saddam as a terrorist threat to this country. We all feel safer now in the U.S., although the rest of the world is scared shit-less. :scared:

I remember vividly those bombings and the Republican "wag the dog" accusations. Freakin' spinning pundits were all over the place after it trying to say he was just trying to distract us all from Monica. Some of us remember and aren't fooled by their revisionist history.

40. The Daschles profit from war
I was really disappointed to read this, but it appears Linda Daschle is a Washington lobbyist for one of those professional military contractors working in Iraq and elsewhere.

From...

http://www.indyweek.com/durham/2003-07-23/cover.html

The firms also maintain platoons of Washington lobbyists to help keep government contracts headed their way. In 2001, according to the most recent federal disclosure forms, 10 private military companies spent more than $32 million on lobbying. DynCorp retained two lobbying firms that year to successfully block a bill that would have forced federal agencies to justify private contracts on cost-saving grounds. MPRI's parent company, L-3 Communications, had more than a dozen lobbyists working on its behalf, including Linda Daschle, wife of Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle. Last year L-3 won $1.7 billion in Defense Department contracts.
