ALERT: Just because Condi mentioned Osama doesn't mean she was

fully aware of or paying attention to a group called 'al qaeda.'

Notice how they are using the fact that Condi participated in a converstion where Osama was mentioned as proving that she was fully aware of or even aware of "al-qaeda." How many people hear knew at first about a group called "alqaeda?" I knew about Osama bin Laden long before I even heard of the al-qaeda group. Her statements in no way prove Clarke was not telling the truth.

the other day when some RWer on TV was railing about how Clarke had lied about that.

In fact, I think Clarke specifically mentioned that everybody had heard of Osama, but not as many were aware of Al Quaeda.

I hope Ben Viniste picks this up and challeges them on using this as a confirmation that Clarke has changed his story. If this were Clinton, even Rush would have picked up on it and made it a cause celeb.

We were watching the news last night when they were talking about Condi referring to Osama. Just like you we realized that it didn't mean she new about al qaeda.

Why doesn't the news pick up on stuff like this? Some people, unfortunately, need to have it all spelled out for them.
