Two more journalists killed by U.S. troops
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 09:21 PM by theHandpuppet
Don't know if anyone caught this news today, but I saw it on NBC Nightly News earlier this evening.

Apparently U.S. troops were firing upon a car speeding near a checkpoint when they accidentally shot up a second car behind the target vehicle, which was carrying two Iraqi journalists (the second car, that is). Both were killed and U.S. Command has admitted our troops were responsible for the "accident". There was no word on the fate of the occupants in the first vehicle, nor were they identified as civilians or terrorists.

This makes eight journalists killed by U.S. forces since the invasion of Iraq began a year ago.

If anyone has a link to this story feel free to post it here. I don't know if this story has hit the wires yet.

1. Happened a couple weeks ago.
They were in denial about it until today. Sorry, no link, but it was discussed here before.

2. Thanks...
The confirmation just came today. Didn't know this had actually happened two weeks ago! I wonder why it took so long to confirm?

Do you know if the occupants of the other vehicle were ever identifed? The news reporter didn't say who they were or whether they were also killed.

3. Don't see anything on MSNBC.
Found this on CNN, but it looks like a followup to an old story.
