WH Press Briefings: No official transcripts since Ari left?
Wondering whether Scott McClellan had held a press briefing today, I visited

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/briefings

I hadn't been on that website for at least a year. Much to my surprise, the most recent transcript was from May 29 2003! Under Ari Fleischer and all his predecessors under Bill Clinton, complete transcripts of press briefings were readily available within hours, if not minutes. Often the State Department's transcripts office would post a second transcript of a WH Press Briefing.

What have I missed? Are the more recent briefings somewhere else on whitehouse.gov? Hav transcripts been privatized and made available someplace elseo on the web? Or is this really what it looks like?

Are there websites that routinely publish unofficial transcripts of WH Press Briefings?

3. Thanks much. I switched to another browser with Java turned on ...
... and the more recent briefings came up fine.

I don't like the idea of Java, but I guess I'll have to try it whenever I'm having trouble with a website.

2. Try this one, skeptic9 -

It's got quite a bit more than just the WH briefings. I always enjoy the Defense Department bloviations.
