Can someone help me with something I partially heard on the radio?
This morning as I was leaving work they were talking about how survivors and family members of people from the attacks on the WTC all signed a letter...and then there was noise in the office...and then the DJ was talking about they were upset.

It was regarding Clarke but I didn't understand what the letter was for?

Anyone?

4. Isn't it amazing?
It just boggles the mind how stupid some people can be.

Here is a man, Richard Clarke, who if you listen to what he has to say, really is in the victims families corner in fighting the actual terrorists who conducted 9/11.

I'll bet there were Germans who loved the oppressive measures that Hitler imposed on them too.

I guess the world is full of all kinds of contradictions... like Democrats for Bush, Compassionate Conservativism, Liberal Media and whining Bush lovers who refuse to see the truth.

5. Hey, MOST of the Germans loved Hitler...
there are no limits to stupidity and malice. Here's a sentence from the NY Post article cited above: "Meanwhile, a Newsweek poll released yesterday found that 65 percent of Americans say Clarke's testimony hasn't affected their opinion of the president." What's it going to take?

6. Other whistleblowers' testimony
that may be more explosive and a media that's interested in the truth.

7. That is actually about what it should be!
Remember, there are 3 groups: those who support Kerry; those who support bush; and the undecided. For sake of a fairly accurate examination of this poll, you need to recognize that these groups are each at about 33% of the populastion. So, Clarke's testimony & book are not going to change the opinions of about 66% of the voters. It is going to influence the other 1/3rd, which is EXACTLY what we want, and even more, what the administration fears. That poll should make all of us very happy, indeed!

9. Exactly!
You will note that there hasn't been a single contributor to d.u. who has said, "Gosh, I was leaning towards voting for bush, but this has changed my mind." It's the "undecided" voters who will actually decide the election. They see Clarke having the balls to testify, Condi Rice refusing to testify under oath, and this vicious personal attack by the republican machine against Clarke. It helps our side in a very significant way.

10. Has it affected YOUR opinion of the President?
Hasn't affected mine: I still think he's a slow-minded, divisive, lying chickenhawk.

See? You can't trust poll numbers!

12. Well, Geez. Clarke's testimony hasn't affected MY opinion of Bush.
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 01:28 PM by Jackpine Radical
Not one little bit.

I knew what Bush was before Clarke came out of the closet, and nothing I heard changed my opinion.

On edit: Wow, nothing like being slow and late with an obvious comment.
