How long will Kerry have to resolve Iraq before the protests geared...
...back up? (Assuming he beats the current pResident)

Accepting that there are few options available (1. Simply leave and watch the civil war (Or not) from afar; 2. Engage the UN and hand over control to them (Using Middle Eastern troops to secure the "peace". Of course we'd write the checks for that operation which may still end up in civil war) and back the hell away; 3. Continue to try to subdue the population indefinately; 4. The ever present "Other".), now that ape-boy has gotten us stuck there, what sort of slack will Kerry get? Personally I believe that he would try to get us out but how successful he'll be at it is a total unknown.

All we do know is that it was a BFEE Imperialistic War, initiated on Lies, and it must end.

So...

6 months? A year? Two years? Three years?

Will he get a free pass just because he's a Dem and didn't actually (Except for the rather lousy vote authorizing it...) start the mess?

One, two, three, four, what the hell are we protesting for?

2. I think you will see a much greater willingness ...

on the part of the UN and the international community to help us with Iraq after the clearly corrupt Bush cabal is out of power. Kerry will not demand continued US control and will be willing to give true sovereignty to the Iraqi people. This will allow us to reduce our military commitment much faster than under the Bush "it's our country to loot" plan. We should see promising developments soon after Kerry is elected. IMO, enough progress to satisfy the people that we are disengaging as fast as we can. That is all we can ask of Kerry.

3. That would be an ideal outcome.
It's what I'm hoping for.

But as we all know ideal outcomes aren't all that reliable.

However if immediate moves were made to enact your scenario it would probably satisfy many anti-Invasion types.

4. about one microsecond
and that's the way it should be. Elect a democrat, and then do whatever else you can to keep him honest (understanding that there is no hope in hell of getting a Repub to be honest).
