1. It is not a sure thing,,, the RW Radio Media Talking Points
Include accusations that Clarke donated to the Democratic Party.

That charge will stick. Why because the average American can't go out and prove it for themselves.

The RW media made the charge that Wes Clark donated to the Republicans. That charge stuck through out Clark's run here @ DU till the end.

Just know that we have along way to go. Though Clarke is doing well the RW media will eventually undermine him enough to render him useless. They have the RW media and especially the Radio Hosts to beat the drum to the masses everyday 24/7. Eventually their charges will stick.

8. Clarke can donate to whomever he wants...
...he's not running for office, and he's served under two GOP presidents, as well as one NeoCon dictator. He also has a large contingent of friends in high places that know him to be honest and dependable.

As long as the rightwingers attack Clarke, his book blowing the whistle on the NeoCons will continue to sell like hotcakes.

Bring it on.

That like being defensive when someone call you a Liberal, as if that is a bad thing.
Just because the hate mongers define something in their terms does not mean that is the definition. (And it usually is not.)

36. The whole story
Clarke donated to a couple of former co-workers in counter intelligence who decided to run for office. Sounds more like a guy helping out a friend than it does partisanship.

22. you can tell he isnt lieing
and that is why he doesnt have problems facing the supposed contraversies or telling the story. it is too easy, and there are no pauses and it is in ease. a person can feel lie, and this guy is tlaking too many things, switching to many areas with ease and speaks without effort. now i can absolutely see the arrogance in the man too, but that is ok, he sits in truth enough it doesnt hurt him like with bushco in their arrogance

The reason we like Clarke so much is because he speaks so honestly about our government. I'm not accustom to hearing such honesty from someone from Washington.....Especially when every word out of Bushes mouth is a lie.

26. Yes, Gothic, I was thinking that during the 60 Minutes interview.
It seemed almost surreal to hear someone speaking honestly, with his mind and heart directly connected to what he was saying. You almost never hear anyone speak like that in the media any more.

37. I felt that way when he explained about the Bin Ladens plane leaving
I remember this overwhelming feeling of "finally somebody's actually answering some goddamn questions!"

What's so hard about that?

His explanation was simple, made 100% sense, and put the matter to rest for me.

31. Clarke said OBL's being hunted by the same guys that hunted Saddam
when he appeared on Larry King. He said that the people hunting OBL are good at what they do, he said he knows some of them and he said OBL will be caught be he also said it's two years too late and irreparable harm has been done by concentrating on Iraq instead of OBL and the war on terror.

21. I'm glad Russert is trying to ask rough questions.
I want everyone to feel like Clarke has been grilled and his motivations vetted.

Speaking of motivations, how can those repukes justify slamming Clarke for being motivated to sell a damn book when their motivation is to steal another election through lies and propaganda!

Go Clarke! Missed part of the interview, though. My kids walked into my front living room with fresh neighbor's dog doo-doo on their shoes and got it all over the carpet and stank up the house. Had to start the Bissell right away to get it up. Nasty.

33. MTP repeats at 10PM and 1AM CNBC
That's when I usually catch it. I did get to see the last 45 minutes today - Clarke was so calm and great refuting every point Timmy threw at him. I thought Timmy was not in his usual attack dog mode - but then maybe even Timmy knew this guy is the Alpha Dog.

32. Sounds like Clarke is using "Dem" talking points and I love it
I missed the show--can't figure out what happened.....anyway, if I understand he kept going at the theme of the repukes doing character assassination AND that is what Clinton brought up at Unity Dinner and Kerry brought up just yesterday. So take up arms folks: THE talking point for all from here through November whether it's Clarke or a lot of shit to come is that "repukes having nothing to run on; don't want people to look at the facts; and all they can do is character assassination". We have to repeat this daily on tv and in print. You go, Clarke.

35. Outstanding
Cleaned Russert's clock.

Happened to catch a moment or two of Fox, and just caught Brit Hume sniffing about Clarke's credibility as being "mortally wounded", without (predictably enough), being able to cite a single instance of action or leadership on the terrorism issue by Bush or Rice to counter Clarke's charges. What a has-been hack.
