Can someone explain why this was locked?

The article began, "BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Israel faces an 'earthquake' of revenge for killing Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin, the militant group's Syrian-based leader said Saturday."

This AP news article (Mar. 27) appeared in the Latest News forum and the moderator locked it, stating, "I/P content goes in the I/P forum." To me, the locked article clearly appears to be news and, secondly, what is the I/P forum?

Please don't move this to the Ask the Administrator's section. Let's see how DU feels about this issue.

It was locked because it was posted in the wrong forum. It should have been posted in the Isreal/Palestine (or I/P) forum.
