Into the Dark
The Pentagon Plan to Provoke Terrorist Attacks

by CHRIS FLOYD

This age: layers of lime harden in the sick son's blood... There's nowhere to run from the tyrant-epoch... Who else will you kill? Who else glorify? What other lies will you invent?
Osip Mandelshtam,
"1 January 1924"

This column stands foursquare with the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense, when he warns that there will be more terrorist attacks against the American people and civilization at large. We know, as does the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense, that this statement is an incontrovertible fact, a matter of scientific certainty. And how can we and the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense, be so sure that there will be more terrorist attacks against the American people and civilization at large?

Because these attacks will be instigated at the order of the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense.
This astonishing admission was buried deep in a story which was itself submerged by mounds of gray newsprint and glossy underwear ads in last Sunday's Los Angeles Times. There--in an article by military analyst William Arkin, detailing the vast expansion of the secret armies being massed by the former Nixon bureaucrat now lording it over the Pentagon--came the revelation of Rumsfeld's plan to create "a super-Intelligence Support Activity" that will "bring together CIA and military covert action, information warfare, intelligence, and cover and deception." ......

According to a classified document prepared for Rumsfeld by his Defense Science Board, the new organization--the "Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group (P2OG)"--will carry out secret missions designed to "stimulate reactions" among terrorist groups, provoking them into committing violent acts which would then expose them to "counterattack" by U.S. forces.

In other words--and let's say this plainly, clearly and soberly, so that no one can mistake the intention of Rumsfeld's plan--the United States government is planning to use "cover and deception" and secret military operations to provoke murderous terrorist attacks on innocent people. Let's say it again: Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush and the other members of the unelected regime in Washington plan to deliberately foment the murder of innocent people--your family, your friends, your lovers, you--in order to further their geopolitical ambitions.

4. he has said this in public in fall of 01 i believe
that's where the whole 'smoke'm out' comes from.

They said they were designing strats to PROVOKE the terrorist so they can then see them when they 'expose' themselves and take them out.

to me it sounded like a plan for perpetual war and still does.

take them at their word, they see this as an enormous opprotunity, condi said so in public as well, to reshap the map not seen since the end of wwII.

now you know why they always answer that things are going well... because everything is going according to their PLAN.

constant chaos and destruction = perpetual war and huge profits for them.

peace

12. They are doing the same thing with the economy.
They are forcing a show down between the classes, but first they have to make sure the workering class is at a disadvantage, and that the economy is so weak, the workers will have to give up basic rights just to survive. Cuts in hiring, wages, and benefits are the first salvos in their class warfare. They will wait until we are too weak to strike back before they do their final assault. We are just Iraqis in their eyes.

13. Exactly
And where's the list of terrorists they've taken out? You'd think they'd be sharing that information in detail, demonstrating the success of their bogus war on terror - and we all know they've detained a lot of mostly nameless individuals - but all they do is speak in vague terms about killing or capturing the ones who are still out there, trying to get us. It's the biggest bunch of bullshit ever.

5. Sickening
MIHOPers now have more ammo. I've always been LIHOP-sympathetic, but I've never wanted to countenance the MIHOP possibility, though I know these scumfucks are certainly monstrous enough. Looks like they've come out and just plain said that not only are they capable, but willing and planning to do it.

I weep for this country.

Can someone who has credit card capability buy it from the LA Times archives?

Arkin is pure gold, by the way. He is a friend of a friend of mine, and he is absolutely professional to the core.

ANALYSIS

The Secret War

Frustrated by intelligence failures, the Defense Department is dramatically expanding its "black world" of covert operations

By William M. Arkin
Special to the Times

October 27 2002

SOUTH POMFRET, Vt. -- In what may well be the largest expansion of covert action by the armed forces since the Vietnam era, the Bush administration has turned to what the Pentagon calls the "black world" to press the war on terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

<snip>

Rumsfeld's influential Defense Science Board 2002 Summer Study on Special Operations and Joint Forces in Support of Countering Terrorism says in its classified "outbrief" -- a briefing drafted to guide other Pentagon agencies -- that the global war on terrorism "requires new strategies, postures and organization."

The board recommends creation of a super-Intelligence Support Activity, an organization it dubs the Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group, (P2OG), to bring together CIA and military covert action, information warfare, intelligence, and cover and deception.

Among other things, this body would launch secret operations aimed at "stimulating reactions" among terrorists and states possessing weapons of mass destruction -- that is, for instance, prodding terrorist cells into action and exposing themselves to "quick-response" attacks by U.S. forces.

7. I still can't believe this
When you combine it with the PNAc imperatives for a "Pearl Harbor Like attack" to get the public motivated for war it seems that 9/11 simply was the successful execution of P20G.

10. When I was in the service we did similar things only with the military
We would fly what we called "Hunter-Killer" missions. What those were was a small Low Observation Helecopter commonly referred to as a Loach would fly at low altitude down a river and hope that they would receive fire from an enemy force. Meanwhile flying about a mile behind the loach was a team of gun-ships ready to open up the second the loach received fire. It was an effective way to lure out an enemy force. The enemy spent a lot of time near rivers and streams for obvious reasons. Must remember though that we were dealing with triple canapy jungle so it was quite difficult to locate enemy forces. We needed to create an opportunity for them to expose themselves. It could be ,and I don't want to be in a position of defending Rumsfeld , that he was referring to a similar practice.

11. Not "planned" - this is very present tense!
f-knows what became of this. The Federation of American Scientists managed to get hold of a presentation by the Defense Science Board which is here:

since then, who knows what has been going on. (though there's been some very strange shenannigans in the Phillipines (I'm thinking of that guy Meiring (sp?))

22. The guy who nixed NORTHWOODS got murdered.
His name was John F. Kennedy. And his successor really escalated things in Vietnam in a big way. In fact, many of the same turds who were in business in those days are still making money off the feudalistic war machinery -- from Santiago to Beirut to Bahgdad to Beijing to Kandahar to anyplace there's money to be made off death, we find the Bush Organized Crime Family.

ET may be far-off, but what he's got is inside all of us. All we have to do is light it up, within ourselves and within each other.

PS: Here's what the BFEE has to look forward to...

If they're lucky... More trouble for them is

24. All too many other Evil Regimes have been brought down, usually by
their own incompetence and fantasies.

This one will sooner or later fall to the same dreary fate....

The History of Humans show us that evil can last for only so long, then the Truth emerges to shine the light of Goodness.

In our case, we need to lance the wound, it is "infected". Those Bushy guys are a pathogen.
