I can't stop laughing (Clarke Amazon Reviews)
This country is too polarized. If proof is required, the customer reviews of Richard Clarke's book on Amazon have become a partisan free-for-all. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0743260244/ref=cm_rev_next/103-9152590-9799047?v=glance&s=books&vi=customer-reviews&show=-submittime&start-at=11

This particular reviewer's locale got me into a real teenage girl style laughing fit--I just can't look at without cracking up. I also like the phrase "disgruntled wimp". That would be an excellent name for a blog.

Reviewer:
David K. Lovison from USA - the Anti-terrorist country!

What a waste by a so-called expert in terrorism. In all the years he was suppose to advise the Commander In Chief he never once prevented an attack. Perhaps this is why he writes this book - to feel better about himself by shifting blame for his incompetence on someone else? President Clinton might have fallen for his ignorance but President Bush did not - and he was dumped. Now, a disgruntled wimp, he acts in desperation with this book. The real sad part of this is that the Democrats use this worthless weasel to try to stab the only administration that is going after terrorists! Save your money - unless you're into reading crap.

2. That's because it's not true...
There were attacks prevented during the Clinton administration and probably during the current administration.

15. THERE IS A WHOLE FUCKING CHAPTER
called the Millennium Alert. And how Clarke, John O'Neill and others stopped not one not two but three planned attacks. Lax, Boston, NYC.

5. That guy must have read too much Ann Coulter
Hilarious. So many uneducated idiots in one party. The GOP really knows how to attract them.

I don't have the book yet but I will pretty soon. I actually can't wait.

What I discovered looking at DU and comparing it to those disgusting freeper sites:

We check the facts, post links, have an educated conversation.

They just say "Kerry is French" or other BS. I am proud to be a liberal progressive

7. Yes, he does sound like an Ann Fan...
especially since Coulter's column on Tuesday, also made the charge (via innuendo) that a "half-dozen" (= six) terrorist attacks occurred on Clarke's watch and he did nothing to prevent them, as if Clarke, and Clarke alone, could have prevented these attacks. I just heard Rummy himself say that it is impossible to prevent all terrorist attacks, but don't confuse Ann with the facts, especially when she's out to smear someone.

What could be worse than another Clinton holdover trying to earn some boodle writing a hysterical book after getting booted for being a nincompoop? Dingleberries! There are few things worse when out hunting for Bambis deep in the wilderness than dingleberries! But in this case, this book is worse. You can't even scratch away the dingleberries with pages from this book because it will surely agitate your who-ha even more. Avoid this book. It is foul

18. The misadministration is coyote f...ed, they can't break out the trap
without bleeding. The steel jaws of reality are making the Bushies yelp and the harder they fight the trap the more they bleed. From Bush down they realize it will never be the same after this encounter.

10. Another Winner
On Amazon they have the "was this review helpful to you" button. I wonder how many folks' book-buying decisions were enlightened by this attack on Leslie Stahl.

"Richard Clarke is a sniveling fool pointing fingers because he isn't man enough to stand up to the criticism of his own inactions. In his testimony to the commission investigating the September 11 attacks, it's clear that Clarke was no more convincing to the Clinton and Bush administrations as he is now during his "I-told-you-so" interviews with the likes of Lesley Stahl on "60 Minutes." As for Stahl, radio host Don Imus put it succinctly when he called her a "gutless, lying weasel" and "one of the more dishonest members of the media" for essentially giving Clarke a free book promotion in front of 16 million viewers. As for Clarke, this book comes at an opportune time for someone looking for a job in the would-be Kerry Administration. "

11. My fave: "Richard Clarke is just spewing sour grapes."
"To bad for him he could have went out on a high note, but looks
like a fool or worst now."

Whoa! Clarke better watch out with critics like this on his ass!

I order the CD to listen at work and just noticed it's abridged. Does that mean a lot of stuff is getting cut out?

17. I know they abridged Hillary's Living History but then again
she did the speaking in the book, and I am sure in that case nothing she wanted in was left out.

23. My favorite: "Two words...BALD FACED LIES!,"
" haven't read this book, I don't have 30 yrs. of government "service", and I don't need facts to back up my opinions, but I can tell this Clarke guy's a deceitful snake. I don't need to read a long, trashy book to tell me what my gut, and my ideology already knows! Honestly, if the stock market had this much bull, I'd still have a job. And that's a fact!"

Here's the kicker, ready?
