Damn you , Richard Clarke !
Why are the Repubs cursing this man so ? One would think he just broke into their castle and went directly to the kitchen, opened the door to the refrigerator, and lifted their big ol' ass ham that they were saving for Thanksgiving in November?

Why was that big ol' ass ham so important? Was it a guarantee that they were going to have a winning November? And now they don't have anything to put on the Thanksgiving table?

The big ass ham is analogous to the "war on terrorism" issue. They had it in the freezer, just saving it for the right time and for the right celebration. Now Richard Clarke has went in and taken that big ol' ass ham (that issue) and they have nothing left. Wouldn't you be pissed also? Damn you , Richard Clarke! :)

3. This is my personal belief...
I believe that the 04' elections are rigged. They know they have it in the bag. Unless...Unless something big comes out showing how badly shrub fucked up. If that happens and his approval drops too far below 50% and he still wins come election time, alot of people are going to be suspicious. Why do you think Bush started attacking Kerry so early in the race? He knows that the only way his approval rating will drop is if Kerry comes out looking like a much better candidate. So he starts out early and "just manages" to squeeze by Kerry in the election. They'll keep it close but, not nearly as close as Gore/Bush. That would get people talking to.

9. Kerry did the correct thing.
He took the vacation he needed, he's sitting back watching the comission, he and his are taking notes and names. This is going to get very interesting.

BTW, bring up the comission wherever you are, just say, "did you hear Clarke testify today? Did you see him apologize to the women that lost their signifigant people? That man has a heart and is telling the truth". use any form of the above. the whispering campaign is larger than the rove machine.

11. If I believed that, I'd shoot myself
Check out the post "Now is the time," or "The time is Now"

(they both say the same thing)

for something a bit more constructive, and hopeful.

I will settle for nothing less than Impeachment.

10. It wouldn't be a surprise, now....
...would it? Especially in October. Atleast not to most of us.

13. October Surprise for 2004 (hint: the Tecumseh Curse)
Could it be that one of the right-wing Repukes in office (or formerly in office 20 years ago) would suddenly keel over, leaving the rest of the "grieving" fascists to mandate a personality cult?

I could imagine one of three people subject to this October Surprise: The Asterisk in Chief, Subcommander Dickie, or Ronnie Raygun.

8. I want to hug him and tell him "good on you."

If I listen to the Sweet Baby Jesus, this man Clarke is the devil incarnate. I guess that means he went and did the impossible. He proved we could take Bush down.

15. He got Begala on Crosstalk to call Condi a LIAR. Twice!
From the transcript:

BLACK: Well, first of all, what she said was nobody in the White House knew that there were plans to use airplanes as missiles.

Now, maybe the FBI knew it. Even Dick Clarke didn't claim that he told Condi or the president that. Nobody knew it. Let's talk about the facts. Let's talk about Mr. Clarke for a minute.

(CROSSTALK)

BEGALA: Well, no, no, I want to talk about Dr. Rice. Why won't she testify under oath before the 9/11 Commission? Doesn't she owe that to us as an officer of the United States government?

BLACK: Most people -- most people in this town, Republican and Democrat alike, believe her and trust her.

(CROSSTALK)

BEGALA: No, they don't. She's a liar. She lied twice in "The Washington Post" op-ed.

CARLSON: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

(APPLAUSE)

BEGALA: Well, sir, they don't. I'm sorry. She's a proven liar. She should testify under oath.

BLACK: She's not a proven liar. I just knocked the one point down.

BEGALA: The secretary of -- undersecretary of state says she is.

No "misspokes" here. L.I.A.R. thy name is Condi.
