Fox's new poll has Bush/Cheney and Bush/Giuliani
Could this be a hint they are thinking about it, considering how Fox is in bed with *?

I used to think Bush/Giuliani would stand a better chance than Bush/Cheney, but not anymore. Clarke's testimony will harm equally any Bush ticket, and perhaps even more so Giuliani because of his role after the attacks.

1. Also, Giuliani has a girlfriend problem that makes Bill's look minor.
Of course, the Repugs won't agree with this. But, if Bush does pick up G. for his running mate (after Cheney graciously steps aside - not!), expect to see people remember how G. tried to move his girlfriend into Gracie Mansion while his wife still lived there.

3. I'll admit I like Guiliani
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 09:56 PM by noahmijo
He's probably the only Republican I'd be proud to meet, I've read his book "Leadership" and always admired the man not his politics so much, (of course I hate to watch him offer positive words towards Bush) although anyone who's really studied him would see that he's the type that most if not all Conservatives would want shunned out of their precious party. Pro-Choice and Pro-Gun Control just for starters.

Plus overall he's got the balls to step up and do what it takes, and of course I'll never forget when he told that Saudi prince to shove his $10 million "gift"

8. How well do you know him ?
He sold lots out from under city dwellers who had turned them into community gardens-places to plant veggies and for kids to play. No warning. One day the bulldozers showed up. Basically he told the people to go to hell.

Remember one of the smaller WTC buildings that was destroyed on 9/11? Guiliani had made himself a bunker supposedly for use in the case of nuclear or terrorist attack on one of the upper floors of the building (odd don't you think to make your emergency bunker on an upper floor). He insisted on putting in huge fuel tanks despite the fears of many that the huge holding tanks were a fire or explosion hazard). Then came 9/11.

I have often wondered why he had decided to build his bunker.

He has a hair-trigger temper-not the quality of steady leadership one might want in a president. He and Bush, I believe, share the personality trait of blaming others.

I think he is capable of renouncing his pro-choice stand in the event opportunity comes knocking.

4. "Youthful indiscretions" are always forgiven for republicans
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 09:59 PM by SoCalDem
It says so on page 209 of the "Filthy Republican Liars" handbook..

Youthful is further defined as anything up to 80..(although there was an exception made for Strom Thurmond because of his meritorious service at Vicksburg)

5. I really can't see Giuliani on the ticket
Really, before 9/11 everyone would've laughed at the idea of a pro-choice, pro-gay rights, pro-environment, anti-gun Republican ending up on the national ticket.

6. I have to agree...
Conservatives would really freak out, and if someone has a more or less liberal stance on social issues (like Giuliani), they will probably vote Democratic.

10. I doubt Giuliani would throw in his lot with *
There's a Salon article, "Republicans for Kerry?" that describes how moderates would even vote for Kerry in order to reorganize the Republican Party and oust the right-wingers in favor of guys like Giuliani.
