Poll question: Who Donated to Kerry This Week - Stand up and be Counted
Just wondering what kind of support we really have from DU.

Those that haven't I know you have contributed already or will or you are giving of your time in lieu of cash.

To those that just plain can't afford it, thats cool. We're all in this together and your time, your letters, your sign holding and your phone calls to voters are worth more than any Billionaire's penance to shrub.

Ideas.

During the Dean run I gave up haircuts and gave the money to Dean.

Now I'm bringing my lunch to work 2 days a week and putting $14 I save in a can for Kerry.

Anybody else have ideas on how people can help or save money?

If you want to give now just click here

1. Well, I haven't donated yet, but
when the IRS refund comes sometime in the next 10 days or so, I'll contribute $25.00 to Kerry. That's all my husband and can afford right now. We're both unemployed, the benefits have run out and things are really, really tight.

2. No.
I am spending my political $$ on local and state races right now.

I'd like to urge everyone to remember your local parties and candidates!

10. No thank you...
I cannot in good conscience give money to John Kerry. He does have my ABB vote in November. This is not a vote for Kerry but a vote against Bush. Kerry just doesn't support enough of the goals that I support to warrant my giving to his campaign.

11. Recuring Donations

You might want to consider signing up for recurring donations. A low $ donation on a regular basis can be arguably more helpful than a higher $ donation only once.

31. You need to post a copy of the cover of Ken Phillips book.
"American Dynasty - Aristocracy, fortune, and the politics of deceit in the House of Bush". I'm in the process of reading it now. It contains a lot of information not well known about the Bush Family Evil Empire.

15. What Kind of Options are Those??? Not a Penny to Kerry from Me.
I see no option for those who aren't planning to donate money to Kerry.
Are you assuming that we *all* want to? That's a bit overly optimistic on your part. Kerry has my vote, but Democracy for America has my money. I'll let him have this election, but, let us say that I am investing in a better choice for 2008.

17. The Poll Is for those who gave - Look at the title
Sorry AQ but I wasn't asking for opinions about giving in this poll. You are welcome to start that one.

The purpose of this poll was to pat ourselves on the back and at the same time open some dialogue about alternate methods of saving or support that those with skinny wallets could maybe draw some inspiration from.

By the way and for what its worth. I gave to DFA the day it launched 3/18/04 but that's really my business isn't it?

16. Two weeks ago, limited out
I've been saving for since last summer. I had enough to max out for my primary choice. As soon as it was apparent that Kerry had the nomination locked up he got the pot. I'm tapped out and couldn't legally give any more anyway. Now all I can do is sit back and watch what gets done with it.

Hopefully.....

28. We gave to Kerry again this week. We also give to MoveOn

and we gave to the DNC. (I gave the DLC a piece of my mind about their letter about "elitists" in the party -- remember that?)

And, of course, we gave to Dennis Kucinich! Go, Kooch!!!

33. Disgusted with Kerry
Ever since Kerry said he was backing the amendment to ban gay marriage in Massachusetts, I've committed to not voting for him. IT's disgusting pandering. That's all Kerry does, is pander. Besides take money from huge telecomm companies. And law firms that represent Pfizer.

35. Other, I donate to Dennis Kucinich and MoveOn
My money is going to people and organizations that represent ideas that best represent me.

MoveOn will get the message out against Bush with my donation, which at the same time benefits Kerry's chances.
