I think the first-person narrative that Clarke uses makes the book very readable and will give the book a broad appeal. People are going to be recommending it to their friends.

4. I don't plan on reading the Clarke book, but I suppose

that its good news for it to be that highly ranked on Amazon. As a pessimist I dont' think its going to be a real difference maker in changing people's mind about Bush. I mean if they still support him, knowing all of the things his adminstration is responsible for they probably aren't going to change their mind now.

Also, I just bought "Hegemony or Survival" and "Middle East Illusions" by Chomsky. If anyone has read either, are they good? Thanks. :)

much yet. It's those people who could be swayed by Clarke's very readable book.

15. I'm sure there are folks who don't have access to independent resources

and such who if they read this it might sway them. But the average apathetic person is going to turn on CNN or any corporate news channel and be told that: this is just a ploy to sell books.. or its all sour grapes against the Bush administration. You know, basically writing off Clarke as some oppurtunist and of course the viewer(s), for the most part, believe it.
