9/11 Commission Highlights Thread--Please Post Today's big news!
I've just tuned in and it seems there is a lot to catch up on!

Even if this a limited-hangout commission, it seems that Clarke has opened it up more than was expected.

Please provide details for those of us catching up!

3. God bless Richard Clarke.....
I saw this guy on Frontline, talking about John O'Neill (I urge you to look up this man, and view the videotapes, and delve into his role in 911).

I have a lot of respect for Clarke, and I think that he suspects a lot more than he is saying. But he is saying all that he can.

John O'Neill is "the seam that shows" in all of this puzzle.

I doubt all of it will ever be public knowledge. At least not in my lifetime.

7. Any transcript from something other than NY Times?
This might sound petty, but I refuse to give them personal information that they could use for marketing (in this day and age, anything). As they require registration to access articles online, this puts me in a bad spot.

5. Some headlines of what I saw
Rice Ducks Commission, Rice admitted to the commission, in private, her statement about never imagining planes as missiles was WRONG in using "we" instead of "I."

Rice Ducks Commission. Other NSA's HAVE testified before committees so that excuse holds no weight.

Rice Ducks Commission despite pledge from Bush of FULL cooperation with committee.

Rice Ducks Commission. Clarke told her there were sleeper cells in the US prior to 9/11.

Getting the picture? :)

11. Armitage spoke about being an advocate for covert operations
and actually said it was "...doing The Lord's Work."

These people are fucking Nazis, and the lord they worship a devil-just like the Inner Party of the Third Reich did.

Clarke's opening statement:

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Because I have submitted a written statement today, and I've previously testified before this commission for 15 hours, and before the Senate-House Joint Inquiry Committee for six hours, I have only a very brief opening statement. I welcome these hearings because of the opportunity that they provide to the American people to better understand why the tragedy of 9/11 happened and what we must do to prevent a reoccurance. I also welcome the
hearings because it is finally a forum where I can apologize to the loved ones of the victims of 9/11. To them who are here in the room, to those who are watching on television, your government failed you, those entrusted with protecting you failed you and I failed you. We tried hard, but that doesn't matter because we failed. And for that failure, I would ask -- once all the facts are out -- for your understanding and for your forgiveness. With that, Mr. Chairman, I'll be glad to take your questions.

eloquence defined,
dp

13. here's a REAL highlight
after the standing ovation...

Former U.S. counter-terrorism coordinator Richard Clarke greets family members of victims of the September 11 attacks following testimony before a national commission investigating the attacks on Capitol Hill March 24, 2004. Clarke, a senior adviser to Bush and the three previous administrations, has accused Bush of paying insufficient attention to the al Qaeda threat before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and afterward focusing on Iraq (news - web sites) at the expense of efforts to crush the network.
