back in the USA
Hi DUers, I've just returned from a 10-day trip to the UK and France. Mrs. Astronomer and I went on our honeymoon, which was delayed for a few months after the wedding, but was definitely worth the wait. :D

I'm wondering whether the emphasis of the US news outlets was different from the emphasis overseas. (I suspect it was.) From what I saw, the four main stories the week I was gone were, in chronological order,

1. The Spanish elections and Spain's decision to withdraw from Iraq
2. The assassination attempt on the President of Taiwan
3. The death of Yassin (This was referred to as an "assassination" on CNN World, but as a "killing" in the CNN web story I just glanced at.)
4. Clarke's book

This was from March 14 to March 23.

How were things reported on this side of the Atlantic?

2. Lets get it right
He is trying to trademark it not copyright it. I hope he is successful because then my boss can't fire me without giving the Donald his fee.

3. Congrats!
I was in Hawaii last week and avoided the news. However I did see a huge photo on the front page Sunday that showed British troops on fire in Iraq. "Unemployed angry Iraqi's" threw molotov cocktails I believe. The Spanish elections aren't even mentioned since I returned. Oh, and the big news in Hawaii was a new report from government scientists on Mauna Loa who have documented global warming is getting worse.
