well, can they survive this?

Clarke looks to be untouched by the thug attack

Ashcroft should be ARRESTED immediately, if that translator story is true

will the emperor at last be revealed as he is, and stand naked, exposed by the children to the "adults" running Washington, and all the blind, benighted observers in the media AND the public, who've sleepwalked through these three dark years, the worst since WWII, the most dangerous to our democracy since the Civil War?

dare we breathe a tentative sigh of optimistic relief?

is it too early?

will the press come down as hard on the side of fascism as they always do, and ramp up coverage on silly sideshows, as they always do?

I could go on, but.........

He defends himself quite effectively. He is showing STRONG, STEADY LEADERSHIP, and lots of class.

4. exactly right.....they can't do ANYTHING well, except
destroy nations and assassinate peoples' character

today, they've shown to be losing their touch at that, too

good thing they have only hacks like Thompson and Lehman to carry their water

but what about Silberman?

is he there?

I've not seen him open his piehole?

is he still a member?

3. No
You should not breath a tentative sigh of optomistic relief. The attacks have only begun.

If the media sways to an anti-Bush position then you may be allowed an optomistic hope.

You may breath a sigh of relief when President Kerry is inaugurated. You will then have to go back on alert for the hostile Congress.

12. Agreed, Salinen. We will soon find out exactly how fascistic
these pigs are willing to become in order to keep power. We will either defeat them completely and they will go away for a few years, or they will pull a power grab that will stun the world.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop.

11. Kerry's Vacation
The first five minutes of 60 Minutes on Sunday I knew Kerry's vacation was no coincidence. They had to know this was coming. The White House had to know it was coming. Kerry keeping far, far away from this is the best thing that could happen. Nothing he could say could improve upon the situation, it speaks for itself to those who are listening. Heck, it speaks for itself to those who are conscious. Let them be undone from within.

Not that I think they are being undone, but they are sweating a bit.

13. Clarke was great and in another world bush would...............
be arrested but in this world the media is not going to show what we watched. The spin already is that Clarke's credibility was damaged. They would show a repug asking Clarke to explain something and then go off into something else without showing Clarke's response.
It sucks.

14. ahem, there is a little thing called the "media"
and don't look now, but after they draw a trickle of blood from the pretender president, they will scorn Clarke and diss him and dice him and pretty soon, most will be bowing down to his excellency the pretzledent and wondering how they could ever have questioned his glorious leadership.

15. BBC versus CNN headline
BBC: Former US Terror Chief Slams Bush

CNN: Panel Member Challenges Clark's Credibility

Yes, our media is going to be "occasionally fair and balanced" with this one....
