Bob Kerrey broke the big story of the day...
Yesterday, Rumsfeld and Powell said they had a new plan to fight terrorism, not just swatting flies, but that they had not had time to initiate it before 9/11. But this morning, Bob Kerrey said he had read it for the first time and found it deficient and not that different from the Clinton plan that was in place when they came into office, paraphrasing. He was not impressed with the plan.

We have not heard the end of the "Bush plan". In effect, there was no plan. They were not concerned about bin Laden or terrorism. Richard Clarke was absolutely right. They ignored it.

If you really think that's what he's doing, you don't know Bob Kerrey.

2. kerrey has been on the commision how long?
from the start, or was he added at some point later?

reason i'm asking: I get this feeling he knows something, something he wants to come up, or out, that is not going to be asked (see thread about not being able to ask certain questions).

Kerrey is pissed and while it sounds like alot of blather and pomp, there is an underlying 'tone' for lack of a better word, that i feel when he is asking questions. He's wants those testifying to slip and let it out....since Kerrey himself can't ask.

just my hypothetical thought,

4. I believe he was added at a later point
to replace Max Cleland....am I right? I'm not totally sure. I wish I could believe the commission would serve some actual purpose other than whitewash.

13. Kerrey almost quit because Smirk wouldn't allow access to PDB.
Kerrey smells a rat. And it looks to DUers like he's found the tail of the BFEE. Let's all help him grab it and tug.

17. The crazy moron, a.k.a. the Little Turd from Crawford.
Kerrey knows that if he goes full-bore, he'll alienate the great American middle. In order to get them to see the Truth, he has to lead them first to common ground. Only then he can get them to cross the far river and see what had been hidden to them -- but not to DUers. We've been there, waiting for them, the whole time, eh, dweller?

3. Which senator put the heat on Tenet regarding the report which
Condi claims she ordered? The Bush Administration has been using this report to prove that she was involved in the process early on. But the senator said he had a letter from one of the CIA suits sitting behind Tenet that stated that that report was INSTIGATED by the CIA. In other words, more fuel that the Bush Administration was not as involved as they claim to be.

Tenet refused to commit to an answer. Needed more time to look at the information.

7. bush* minions run Clinton's plan through a copy machine after 9/11

they were in a pinch, since LOTS of people wanted to see the 'plan'....so why not just copy the previous Clinton plan and claim it as a "bush* plan".....

bush* was completely incompetent and maybe complicit with 9/11...claiming to come into office with the GREATEST advisors ever, to cover bush* own lack of foreign experience....all the bush* minions appear equally incompetent as bush* himself...

the testimony is another bush* fiasco....

bush* National Security advisor cannot come due to blah blah blah....
Clinton's National Security advisor comes. The 9/11 Commission reads a statement from the National Archives of all the times that National Security advisors have appears before Congress and other committees, blowing away condi's lame arguments....

The 9/11 Commission announces that the saudi hijackers were NOT even in the USA during Clinton's administration. Most of them got into the USA around April 2001. bush* provided the Afganistan taliban $46 Million, in return for their promise not to grow poppies, while they harbored osama....

Clinton's team sounds very competent and intelligent...

compared to bush* team sounding real idiotic or mumbling away or not answering the questions, or refusing to appear....9/11 happened on bush* watch....it's time to BOOT BUSH and all his minions out of OUR Government.....it's Kerry time!

Go JFK, beat bush*

9. yep

The Afghanistan plan that worked to near perfection (the failure was in follow-through, of course) was one Berger/the Clinton people had done all the work on figuring out and left the Bush people.

Of course, it worked out so well that W got his big "leadership against terrorism" numbers out of it rather than Playing Rabbit At Offut AFB numbers.

12. It's Not a Secret Really
We've known this for awhile. They took Clinton's plan and replaced all the instances where Clinton realistically said "roll back" and replaced it with "eliminate" (as if you ever really could eliminate) Al Quaeda. Then they slapped "Bush Plan" in the header and dated it 9/10/01 and voila! They've go their own plan that they can claim they had before 9/11 but didn't get a chance to implement. It was a lazy way to try to cover their asses after 9/11.
