Shun U.S. race, Blair orders colleagues
Will Blair eventually face a revolt in his own party? This is unbelievable. It makes me wonder what does Bush have on Blair anyway? I'm thinking pictures of a "dead girl or a live boy." Something.

Tony Blair has ordered Labor ministers and officials not to become embroiled in the U.S. presidential race in an apparent attempt to avoid offending President Bush.

The prime minister's veto on visits to the United States means that only one official will attend the Democrats' nomination of John Kerry in Boston in late July.

Blair's intervention, which will prevent his Labor colleagues from offering their traditional support to the Democrats, has astonished ministers who remember the close links Labor had with Bill Clinton.
