Isn't anyone watching MTP?
Kennedy is doing a great job. The only thing I could have asked for was for him to say a flat-out "no" when Russert asked him if the world was safer without Saddam. Other than that, he's really laying into Cheney, et. al.

1. I am watching
I was looking for a thread and looks like you started it. I agree Kennedy is doing a good job, but Timmy is especially disgusting this morning. He is spouting Republican talking points non-stop.

2. Sounds like Timmy is doing TK a favor then!
Can't watch right now (taping it though), but if Timmy is spouting Republican talking points in his interview, I would imagine he is providing great targets for Ted Kennedy to shoot down.

maybe I can catch both if Kennedy is in the first half hour...

Vidal is at 11am EST in NYC.....

6. Now Tim is trying to pin "liberal" on him as if it's a dirty word!
Look up the word Russert....Liberal means a lot of GOOD things!

8. Kennedy best moment
Russert - Are you a liberal?

Kennedy - I'm as much of a liberal as B*sh is a compassionate conservative!

Great,

Kennedy did a great job!!! Don't miss it - absolutely laid the repub lies on the table and ripped apart their arguments against Kerry.

7. Noooooo!
Kennedy supports the Hatch "Arnold" amendment to the constitution(changing the US born requirement for the presidency). He also said the Gropenator is "doing a good job out there". :puke:

11. Remember, the Swartzengrabber is the husband of Teddy's
niece and the Kennedy's (almost) always stick together.

14. Yes, I am well aware of that fact
but the last thing we need is to even have the possibility of the Gropenfuhrer eligible for occupying the whitehouse.

15. Oh, I agree. 100%
But even Teddy is not perfect. We will have to look for salvation some other way. Is there someone who is foerign born who would be so repugnant to the GOP as that they would kill their own proposal that we Dems could put forward as a Democratic nominee for the Presidency should this bill pass?

Fight fire with fire. Who do we have that has lived int the US for twenty years, but is not a "natural" citizen?

17. Would need more than a bill
Hatch is pushing an amendment to the constitution, which as you know is very difficut to do.

<snip>

Hatch is seeking to amend the Constitution to remove the ban, allowing anyone who has been a citizen of the United States for two decades to run for the country's highest office.

18. If they're going to rescind the ban, to be fair,
it shouldn't be to benefit any particular politician on the horizon today. It shouldn't take effect for another 20 years or so.

21. We shouldn't judge amendments...
on the basis of which specific person stands to benefit. If we do decide to amend the Constitution, it should be for reasons that go beyond individuals. The question is whether or not it benefits the country to exclude non-native-born citizens... not whether it benefits Democrats to exclude Arnold.

I think there may be some foreign-born U.S. citizens that might make good Presidents... probably not that many though.

22. But the opposite is also true
and it is clear that Hatch is pushing this at this time to benefit one person and one person only.

12. Russert asking about naming foreign leaders
who support Kerry. Kennedy first says just look who is not in our "coalition" against Iraq. Then started in on how the administration should name the leaker of Valerie Plume and who was on the energy task force that channey has refused to reveal. Great come back. Plume leaker has committed a crime and endangered security but we cannot get a name.

to Tim's assertion that Congress had all the same info as the White House, and they voted for IWR anyway? It doesn't come on at my house for another hour.

20. Kennedy hit a home run when he asked Timmy about ....
whether Bush was a "compassionate conservative". He showed just how ridiculous the rightwing labels are and how ridiculous Tim and the lap dog media are for repeating it. Then he guffawed... :)
