Democrats Against Kerry
Today I learned of two websites by Republicans who planed on voting against Bush. According to one of the websites, Conservatives for Kerry, 11% of Republicans surveyed said they planned to vote against Bush. Does anyone know of the percentage of Democrats who plan to vote against Kerry?

3. Add Ed Koch
How come the only liberals I know of, that don't despise Bush are millionaire TV pundits?

It must be something in the water.

who were going to vote for Bush this time was about 4 or 5%

11. I agree
But that is what I read. 11% of Bush voters would vote for Democrat this time, and 4 or 5% of Gore voters would vote for Republican this time.

From the buzz I sense, the was-Bush-now-Kerry number should be much highter, and the was-Gore-now-Bush number should be nonexistent.

12. I think that is plausible.
I can think of two issues. Democrats who think * showed "leadership" after 9/11, or those whose marriages are severely threatend by the thought of gay marriage.

5. check pollingreport.com
http://www.pollingreport.com

This site lists several poll results, some of which break down responses into party affiliation as well.

8. In the exit polls in the past primaries
Edited on Fri Mar-19-04 03:21 PM by Nicholas_J
THe indications were that anywhere from 8-10 percent of democrats planned to vote for Bush, whle 10-12 percent of Republicans planned to vote for Kerry. Giving Kerry a 1-2 percent greater margin in crossover votes which translates to 500,000 to 1,000,000 more votes for Kerry in the crossover vote.

Kerry will wait until late in the season to begin attacking the resoning for going to war in Iraq, and how diverting resources from going after Al Qaeda over a year allowe the attacks in Bali, Casablanca, and Madrid to occur.Especially Madrid, as it occured after the capture of Saddam Hussein is a string indication that going after Iraq did not inhibit the terrorist activity Of Al Qaeda.

But it is best for Kerry to hold old that card until the end of the season, especially if there are no significant results in capturing high level Al Qaeda members, or even if they do, If further terrorist attacks occur, It will prove that the president's policies are realtively impotent in handling terrorism.

There is another site, conservativesagainstbush.com which indicates an even hgher percentage of conservatives who will be voting against bush.

13. You cite 8-10% of democrats
who will vote for Bush.

Most of those people probably voted for him last time.

18. Actually
BUsh pulled closer to 20 percent of the democrats in the last election, but support among various Democratic sub groups has fallen off significantly as a result of his conservatism losing its compassion.

10. Precisely!
You hit the nail right on the head. Kerry will be the Democratic nominee. If someone, anyone, votes for someone other than Kerry on November 2 they simply are not a Democrat. You are what you vote for.

16. No, they are just more aware, intelligent, concerned, educated,
informed, compassionate, patriotic, etc. than other republicans, and, because of these qualities which they have in common with Democrats, will obviously soon realize their past mistakes and join the Democratic Party.

17. Yes
At the moment they cast their ballot for a Democrat what else would you call them? Is it possible for me to be standing in front of you munching on a hamburger and at the same time be a vegetarian? Of course not. You are of the party you vote for.
