Seems to me that every time I hear the Chickenhawk-in-Chief make a speech about the War on Terrorism, he's flanked by a thousand whooping, cheering servicepeople.

Now I've nothing against the soldiery per se but I guess that there might be slight repercussions if any of 'em failed to war-whoop to order. So the reaction isn't really a gauge of public reaction, is it?

Wonder if he'll ever take the risk of taking the message to a neutral audience?

1. Wonder if he would wear his dress up time military garb
He reminds me of a Ken doll (not even GI Joe, not macho enough).

2. Safe Audiences
Unlike Democrats who aren't afraid of real people, Bush can only speak to military crowds (who know that even if they disagree with him they can't speak out in uniform) and political sycophants. His handlers know that if he ever gets a nasty crowd who could snap and it will all be over then.

6. Yes, and they do have "choir practice"
Remember the story about the soldiers being rehearsed to yell
"hoo-hah?"

5. Military must be respectful of any Commander in Chief
But don't kid yourself. When he does dress up there are many sitting there thinking "yeah right, you AWOL-military-as-a-club-come-and-go-as-I-please creep"!

8. Uh, this really shouldn't be surprising
What if he gave a military speech at an AARP meeting, a Medicare speech at meeting of Fortune 500 CEO's, and a bs economic recovery plan at the West Point commencement?
The crowd matches the message in the political world.

9. It's economical
This way he never has to bus in his "fan club" of followers for he has a built in crowd. They don't have to bring many flags since any military grouping has plenty of them. They don't have to give the crowd a script for the troops just have to follow orders to salute and cheer him every time he takes a breath. Finally what better to stir up the repub voters then a military rally.

10. speeches to the military
Not all of them, but he does seem to address only captive audiences: the military, schoolchildren, the Congress, ... Look, Fraudulent Bush can't even hold an unscripted press conference. He goes places where Bill Clinton was thronged with well-wishers who now have to be cordoned off and rounded up by the police. A sure way to expose this phony, even to his supporters, is to get him in an open public forum without notes for more than a few minutes. This would be the perfect opportunity for President (Freddy) Freeloader to demonstrate his leadership skills, but alas, he has none. The Coward-In-Charge is unlikely to come out of hiding unless Kerry can bait him into a series of debates. It is critical for Kerry to keep the pressure on Shrub I to debate.

11. He's a coward pure and simple.
He doesn't have the balls to speak before the general public.
Really pisses me off.

I've got to chill...... or I am going to go over the edge.

13. Who else would applaud him except those ordered to do so.
He also makes them to rich corporatists for whose benefit these bogus wars are being waged.

14. I read yesterday
that when he goes to Ireland later this year he's taking 700 people with him.

Gawd forbid the smirking mother f****r would dare show his face to "real" people instead of his crowd of paid followers.
