CNN's "face off" just had a Futurama moment
CNN is right now having a "face off" between a repub and democrat. Of course it's not a "face off" at all. It's dealing with border security on the Arizona border using spy drones.

It was introduced like this (not an exact quote) 'Here today is the repub who says the step "doesn't go far enough" and here is the democrat who says "it's a good first step"' (true quote marks are direct quotes)

Now when I heard "face off" I expected the two people to be split on the issue of border security. But it seems one of them thought "it was a good first step" and the other "it didn't go far enough" neither statement is mutually exclusive, and are both for the measure.

The repub was introduced first and was asked why he supported border security.

I wasn't paying very close attention, and it took me around 20 seconds to realize the people were both on the same side essentially. Though it gave me the immediate impression the first person (the repub) was for border security, while the dem was against it. Especially because they called it a "face off" several times, and introduced the repub first as being for border security. Very clever word play.

It reminds me of a futurama episode in which they said the two presidential candidates were very different. (they were physical clones) One of them said essentially "I think this position doesn't go far enough" and the other then said "I think this position doesn't far far enough" .

4. I know I am for a closed border!
Anyone who live HERE in Arizona is for border security. We have the highest rate of fatal home intrusion of the country. Most are non-citzens. Open the door, get a shiv in the eye. Happened just next door. They killed eveyone.

They didn't knock, they waited for the girl to come out to go to school.

What else can you blame? A lack of "shiv control" legislation?

13. that was the original, all right ...
Though the cartoon show seems to have borrowed the modernistic design (the 1930s idea of what the future would look like) in homage.

14. Don't blame me ... I voted for Kodos
Ahh ... the Simpsons. Gotta love 'em ...

As for "Lou Dobbs Tonight" (or any night), I have to admit that he is one of the very, very few Republicans I admire. Lou has a strong populist streak (like McCain) and he isn't afriad to be contrarian,. Most of the time the guests on his show either disagree with him completely (in which case he skewers them politely) or the pairs he brings on are actually representative of both sides of the issue. I didn't actually catch much of tonight's show, so I can't speak to the two who were on tonight, but I'd be hard pressed to agree that Lou spins "propaganda."
