Jane Aruff CNN asked an Iraqi "have you ever seen anything like this"?
He looked a little befuddled. Was she there when 100's of cruise missles and bombs rained down on Bagdad?

2. She also said that the Iraqis who were angrily blaming america for
the bombing "were caught up in it" an "not thinking clearly".
They are thinking very clearly. Iraq may have had Saddam but the country has never, in modern times, been as bad as it is now, after the american invasion and occupation.

Shes just another propadanda purveyor for the corporate/state controlled media.

3. But they didn't mind those deaths
because it was for "freedom." Reminds me of an asinine comment (one of my many) my fundie repuke aunt made regarding the Iraqi casualties: well, they have to sacrifice for freedom. Ugh! Sacrifice means doing something willingly, not having it done for you!

4. Araff = hack.
I got sick of her standing in the crater of a bombed-out hotel, repeating how everything's so damn peachy-keen in Iraq.

I used to like her, but she seems to have been drinking the ThugCo Special First Anniversary Industrial-Strength Kool Aid.

She's a hack.

5. Maybe they could dredge up that kid with no arms
and badger him about whether it was all worthwhile...

Dear President Bush,
The child who has lost his arms
thought he was catching a ball
when the bomb his enemies dropped
bounced through his dapper hall.
Look at him here in his bed
washed by the camera glare:
the world must know what happened,
and show how truly it cares.
Was it in fact his foes
who threw this thing in his house?
Or was it perhaps his friends -
hence their exceptional fuss?
Guilt is the great disguiser,
blacking the white of the sun.
One thing we know for sure:
the ball goes bouncing on.

6. did you see her interview with the US on site commander?
She started be saying "I keep running into you at these bombings. HA HA"

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She's at the site of a deadly bombing yucking it up.

7. Exactly What I Was Thinking
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 05:55 PM by otohara
she was hysterical - Dear Jane, this bad alright. Imagine what it must have felt like the night our bombs started raining down on Baghdad one year ago? Is that possible?

8. I saw it and think he did not understand the question...
because if he had he would have said ... "Fucking A lady, the US bombed the shit out of Baghdad a year ago!"

9. Of course he turned away from that brutally callous question.
He comes from a civilized culture where the slaughter of ten thousand human beings in a war of conquest is not easily dismissed as "collateral damage."

The guy was a doctor when the PNAC cabal gave the orders to kill and maim tens of thousands of innocents and tried to use cowardice as a mask for the greed and blood lust underlying that decision.

Oh yes indeed he has seen worse.

Of course he turned away.
The memories that flashed through his mind were too intense to bear.

11. What hospital was the doctor with?
I am assuming the doctor was a medical doctor? Did they mention what hospital he was with? Did they mention the doc's name?

Also, what is the name of the hospital near the hotel that got blasted?

If you don't know, I am willing to do the research myself, but how do I find out?

The reason I ask is because the doctors in the article linked below inspired me to donate $$$ to Doctors without Borders. I shudder thinking about the hellish day they must have had, thanks to the dumbass evil war of the Bush Junta. A war that somehow, as an American citizen, I let them get away with...

For the record: I seriously despise what the Bush junta has turned my country into.

PS Thanks to a real journalist, Hal Bernton of the Seattle Times, for getting the story of the doctors out.
