Why is there more intense coverage of this bombing than the Madrid one?
Or is it my imagination? I don't get it, the Madrid bombing was a much more significant event. This is just one more Baghdad hotel bombing. Yet CNN has been calling this 'Breaking News' all day and has talked about little else. Is the reason that they are using it as an excuse to not cover today's speech from Kerry?

3. poltitics; this is the one year anniversary of the Iraq invasion i think
that and actual footage of fire and similar 'action' makes for better infotainment than tipped over, blown up trains that aren't flaming.

sick sad world.

4. Because it's a slow news day.
Early this morning, CNN was spending alot of time talking to Ben Affleck about JLO.

5. Just praying that it may backfire on all the media whores who
work so hard all day to bring us four more years of Bush. Spain, Bush might try to manipulate into "scared to stand against terror unlike us". But this adds to the ever growing view that this war wasn't worth it. Did it look to you like "democracy was breaking out all over" and that we will be saying 'bye bye' to the grateful Iraqis in a few months as they go on to establish a veritable USA of the East???? Should make a lot of people wonder when their sons will be sent (like as in--if this doesn't get over soon will Bush draft them).

7. Just wondering about things
I just had that feeling that for some reason the media were not about to let Kerry speak.I also wonder how long the information about the bombing was withheld before it became breaking news. Sure odd that it broke just when Kerry had began his speech.

8. This is getting ridiculous
non-stop coverage for almost four hours.

CNN is at the point of speculating about speculation!

The Madrid bombings didn't get this coverage. :wtf:

I really don't understand this.

Kerry is blown out of the headlines, but then again, so is Cheney.

make that a second :wtf:

9. Because there are Americans on the scene,
and involved in the situation in Iraq. When Madrid trains were bombed, there was little expectation that Americans would be on them. I'm afraid this is the attitude of the American media, and many Americans -- we don't care much about the world outside of America, and Americans.
