What this stupid Wisconsin repuke "conviently" leaves out, is that nearly all the materials accidentally destroyed were letters from voters to Tommy Thompson.

No evidence this was done deliberately, but standard GOP talking point, "I believe it, so it's gotta be INVESTIGATED!"

Assembly Speaker Says Doyle Wants To Wipe Out Thompson's Legacy

MADISON, Wis. -- Assembly Speaker John Gard, a Peshtigo Republican, says he wonders whether Gov. Jim Doyle intentionally destroyed them.

Several hundreds boxes of records ended up at a Green Bay paper mill and were reduced to pulp -- about 100 of them from the former governor's office.

Department of Administration officials say the wrong boxes were mistakenly put on the truck.

But Gard says more is afoot. He says Doyle, a Democrat, is trying to wipe out Thompson's legacy. Thompson, a Republican, served as Wisconsin's governor for 16 years before joining President Bush's cabinet.
