I am so sick of being a citizen of "The Homeland"

7. I can't STAND IT!

I never ever EVER use that term myself (like I never use "president" and "bush" in the same sentance).

"Homeland" makes me feel as if I'm caught in some History Channel series on WWII -- it turns my stomach, literally.

I can't believe folks have so easily adapted to the use of that word with our country.

8. It was the worst in the months after 9-11.

The constant barrage of jingo spouting talking heads. Local newscasters and sportscasters on radio stations saying we needed to use nuclear weapons in the middle east. Every house on the block waving flags. All of the "you'r either with us or against us" nonsense.

I told my wife it was creepy, sureal, like I was in 1930's Germany.
