Local ABC news last night called Obama, Osama
ABC was on at our house last night. They announced that Barack Obama had a majority of the votes with only 2% of precincts reporting. The 'reporter' called him Barack Osama. They did brief comments about each of the primary candidates. Showed footage of Oberweis (repub) with his family and then went to a live report from Ryan (repub) headquarters. The Ryan special reporter gave an enthusiastic report from Ryan headquarters basically saying that nothing was going on, but it was clear who they are backing.

It's been reported in Chicago, that Ryan and Obama were in the lead. So I would understand if they had a live report from Obama's headquarters and Ryans. The problem is they only did this with Ryan.

Really aggrevating. On the plus side. Ryan didn't do as well as I thought he would. Oberweis seemed to take a chunk of his voters. Obama did an incredible job. Before turning off the TV for the night, (didn't hear the final numbers) , Obama had close to half a million votes. Ryan had 70K. Chicago, Cook county turn out was incredible.

Obama can beat Ryan. He needs a little help dow state where people don't know him as well, but he could win this, imo.

1. I was watching CLTV last night and they had
nothing but positive things to say about Obama and most of their coverage about Ryan focused on the fact that his divorce controversy will probably hurt him in the general election. It was great to watch.

2. I have seen nothing but positive stuff about Obama
in the Rockford and Quad Cities media.

I was afraid someone would slip and call him Osama, though. The gaffe is a bit understandable.

Even the repuke commentator here was talking about Ryan's divorce.

Don't worry about Obama.

4. I've heard Ryan get called "George Ryan"
which is about as bad as being called Osama.

5. LOL
I wondered if that last name would hurt him. Even if people know they aren't related. Kind of like "Not another Ryan in Illinois politics"

Thanks for sharing all the great news reports about Obama. Didn't hear anything about Ryan's divorce. As I understand Illinois politics, messy divorces can lose a candidate the women's vote. Happened to Hull (dem) to some degree this time around.

What was the final vote percentage for each candidate. Last I heard Ryan had 35% of the repub primary vote or 70K. Obama was in the 60-70% range with 450,000 votes.

Heard there was poor voter turn out throughout the state.

6. I think I saw the same report
It was the guy reporting from Obama's victory party, I think. He corrected himself right away. I bet he feels pretty foolish.
