Bush fears 9/11 testimony, launches "Clinton screwed up" offensive
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 10:01 AM by xray s
I am convinced the agressive spin campaign on MSNBC and Fox to convince people Clinton blew a shot at bin Laden is a preemptive strike to try to soften the huge blows they will take once the testimony of Clinton administration officials spell out their plans to get bin Laden and their warnings of future attacks that were totally ignored by Bush until 9/11.

Clinton should announce that all members of his administration will answer the questions in open testimony, available to the public. It's time for the Big Dog to answer Bush's lies and expose his incompetence.

1. The best question asked so far this morning
Who released this tape?

but should also ask:

Why did they release it now?

Where do the muddy footprints lead?

10. Obviously the footprints lead to Cheney's door
That is the door with the Constitution door mat where you wipe your muddy feet before going in...

2. At what point will Clinton no longer be blamed?
Bush is the biggest non-stand-up president I've ever seen. It's absolutely embarrassing.

5. As soon as it becomes
more politically advantageous to blame Kerry. That is already beginning. Note the recent attempts to blame Kerry for 9/11.

3. IT is pretty interesting timing
And has little to do with Kerry's campaign, as much as they will try to tie the two together.

8. Kerry should call BS and show B&W photos
that Powell showed; similar grainy, unrecognizable shapes refuted to be WMD, but of course...we know otherwise.

"Suddenly, with Mr. Bush's approval among the American people at an all-time low, his campaign surfaces with self-described startling footage, even grainier than Colin Powell's WMD evidence, of a supposed Osama bin Laden figure taking a stroll. Please, Mr. Bush, when will you simply come clean with the American people about your own failure to protect them, and stop the relentless focus on an adminstration which has been out of Washington for nearly four years now?"

THAT is what I want to hear Kerry say!

They said it's a 3 part series and tonight they'll be seeing how Bush missed him, too. I want to see if they balance it or not.

14. Balance? No way! And here is why
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 10:17 AM by xray s
The fact that we had bin Laden in our sights and missed him after 9/11 is far far more important and damaging to our national security.

Why didn't we nail him then? Because we were more concerned about going to Iraq.

Clinton changed his policy and decided to go after bin Laden after the Cole attack, which was in October of 2000. He put in place plans to take bin Laden out, and warned Bush that we could be attacked again. Bush ignored all that and decided to pursue Star Wars and take vacations in suburban Waco instead. This has to be screamed from the rooftops.

We are in the Big Fight now folks. Have to hit these bastards back hard.

16. Kerry needs to keep blasting away
at the Bush administration. IMO, Condi Rice is at fault. I hope this all comes out during the 9-11 commission testimony.

"What did you know and when did you know it?" Also,

"Who did you tell this to?"

Meanwhile back at the ranch :-), Bush is busy trying to be everybody's buddy and dispensing his tax cuts to buy off friendship.

11. Clinton needs to get on this
I understand that there is some sort of gentlemen's code for the presidents about not knocking the current president or even getting too dumpy about former presidents but this is different. This borders on crimes against the state if Bush is guilty of even half the things some of us around here suspect. CLinton cannot let his legacy get dragged through the mud here. This could seriously damage his image and he doesnt need to sit for it. He's got loads of ammo against Bush and many of his former intelligence advisors would come to his aid since it's their reputations at stake.

12. Bush's fault
The Bush administration was urged by the Clinton administration to use the drones to get Osama as soon as the Bushies took over the White House. The Bushies waited to use them until after 9-11.

It is Bush's administrations fault!

15. hmm, it's a three-part series?
I agree; let's wait and see what else they say.

To Today Show's credit, the announcer said that the tape showed the Clinton administration was aggressively trying to get Ossama way before 9/11. Then Madeline Albright revealed the fallacy of the republican argument by telling us that the drone didn't even have shooting capability!

So, repukes, how was this opportunity blown when the plane in question was simply a spy plane with no ability to destroy a target?

This is just so typical of right wing obfuscation of the issues.

18. Kerry is going to have to remind people that Bush...
gave 43 million dollars to the Taliban less than 5 months before the attacks on 9/11 and after he was warned by the Clinton administration. The terrorists probably used that money to buy their plane tickets and box cutters.
