Charge against mom in Utah dropped
Charge against mom in Utah dropped
SALT LAKE CITY -- Prosecutors dropped a child-endangerment charge Tuesday against a woman accused of homicide for refusing a Caesarean section that could have saved her unborn twin.
snip

the charge was dismissed to create "more ease of prosecution" in the murder case against Melissa Ann Rowland, 28.

it's such a small article that the snip is hardly worth it
I read the headline and thought common sense had prevailed
wrong

1. Only the endangerment charge
related to the surviving twin. THe homicide charge still stands.

2. Stupid Motherfuckers
Will informed consent forms now carry the warning that failing to agree to surgery may result in prosecution?

What other surgery will women be compelled to undergo?

Remember Romania?

3. can anyone who's followed this story answer a question for me?
How did the police find out about this woman?

Who called the cops on her? One of the doctors? A nurse?

Those were the questions the neonatologists in my unit were asking when they were talking about this story last week.

BTW, all of them think the story is bogus and that the woman shouldn't have been charged with homicide. Even though they think what she did was dispicable - as do I.

someone definately violated doctor/patient confidentiality, especially the nurse who was spouting the "cut like that" bullshit.
