Kerry actually let the guy speak and answered his question. It was only when he demanded that Kerry tell him what was discussed and who said it, that the Sen replied "It's none of your business, I would never betray a private conversation".

Kerry's refusal to 'betray a private conversation' is constitutionally guaranteed, though because he's a Senator, I'm not sure where the line is drawn. If he's talked to foreign leaders, disclosure may be required. I'll bet his befriendments abroad are respectable, unlike the Bushes who made friends with Bin Ladens, Hussein, Noriega, etc.
