Please don't take this the wrong way, but................
Edited on Wed Jul-09-03 07:45 AM by SoCalDem
Could those of you who are gaa-gaa for ONE candidate try to post more of the day to day stuff about your candidate in the Politics and Candidates or Activism forum?

Here's why..

I admire you for your fervor and dedication, but it's so hard to navigate GD and LBN as it is, without all the "candidate specific" threads..

One person posts.."Dean is the best thing since shoelaces", so everyone who does NOT like Dean feels compelled to then start plugging THEIR guy... "Kerry won the Viet Nam war with one hand tied behind his back"...."Al Sharpton caught kissing Karl Rove"..."John Edwards-More than just a pretty face"..."Kucinich gets endorsement from Wham-O Toy Co."

and

before you know it, we have 13 or 14 threads going..with everyone dissing everyone else..

There are probably LOTS of us who have not yet made up our minds and all the vitriolic arguing back and forth has pretty much turned me OFF, when it comes to even reading these threads..

Hyper-partisanship is not pretty whether it's party vs party OR candidate vs candidate within the party..:(

5. Have to agree with you SoCal...

Our energies must be put towards blasting bush off of the pedestal, and not using it to beat each other up because of our personal preferences.

While it is imperative that we nominate the individual that would be best for the country; at this point, unless something dramatic happens, we all really know where our candidates stand.

Pretty soon, the 'culling' process will move us into a new aspect of who is in a position to beat bush in '04; as this process moves forward, I expect to see a lot of weary and demoralized individuals posting about their grief. I for one, will wait until the field clears a little before committing. After all, anything can happen.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

:hi:

on edit: Good Lord SoCal....it's far to early in the AM to look at Coulter, and the rest, (except BC of course). :scared:

6. Welcome to politics
with a primary season we are so anxious for - we are biting at the bit.

It is all so relevant, and if it isn't, maybe you should bring it up with the site owners who started their own Dean discussion thread yesterday.

;-)

14. Anyone notice that these candidtate puffing threads don't get...
...so many hits?

Also, curiously, the ones with Kerry's name in the subject line tend to be read by the most people.

16. Naw, those are just the Kerry cheerleader hits
inflating the count--because he sure didn't get the most votes.

Ooops, guess I shouldn't mention that - it may offend someone's tender sensibilities. ;-)

Just kidding, but threads like this are ridiculous on a political debate forum.

Those threads are choking everything else out anymore, and the primary's just under a year away...not like we're running short on time or anything.

18. Great Point
And I love your expanding gallery of pictures.

While I agree, the temptation for boosters of whatever candidate to gush over theirs will always be irresistable for some.

Maybe the mods need to take a more active hand in moving those threads over there, unless they are sufficiently broad in interest & topical for the GD. Of course that would have to be a pretty subjective decision on the part of the mods...
