Protectionism, GOP style.
The GOP is so voluble about Kerry being "protectionist" when Kerry talks about outsourcing US jobs and the disappearance of the middle class....

This morning I heard a spokesman for the Administration, on Cspan, talking about how the terrorists are going to attack us through drugs from Canada.

Let's not consider that the main source of complaint is from US pharmaceutical corporations, that we have been overcharged, and mercilessly slaughtered by the same.

This spokesman warning us of "terrorists" poisoning us through Canadian/American drug trade, and Mexican/American drug trade, used the word "potential" about three dozen times.

He had charts. Suppositions. Potentialities. He created FEAR, for those who are trying to survive within their means.

He listed the sources of those drugs "possibly" supplied to Canada and Mexico, particularly Canada. All of those sources were from countries not particularly happy with the US at the moment.

He didn't mention England, the most likely source of imported drugs to Canada, or Germany, likewise. He mentioned countries with known Muslim populations.

He even mentioned the Tylenol/Cyanide poisonings some time back.

Now, logic tells me, unless our (ha ha) Government is too busy paying off the pharmaceutical companies, that the first deaths from Canadian or Mexican imported drugs would be revealed immediately and the sources blocked, forbidden.

If this regime does its job, it will protect the pharmaceutical corporations, gluttons tho they be.

Terrorists, I am sure, are not so stupid as to be unaware of this, that is, if the US is doing its job.

So the current regime, accusing John Kerry (he was not MY choice) of being protectionist, is openly espousing protectionist control of the inexpensive sources of life sustaining medications from the Americans who cannot afford to pay the extortionist prices of American pharmaceutical corporations.

My best friend of 25 years died, February 18, 2003. because she couldn't afford the drugs it took to keep her alive. She stopped taking them in 2002, eight months before her death.

Congratulations, America, another person receiving Social Security has died. How much was her life worth to you in tax savings? How many do you have to let die before you understand that "National Interest" and "the right to life" include not only the unborn, but the elderly, the disabled and the living humans.

What will it take?

1. Unless we change the health care system
this well could be the norm, not a sad anomaly
