NYC DU'ers - let Madrid know....
I know there's several of us working in and around midtown.

The Spanish Consulate is at 150 East 58th Street, btwn. 3rd and Lex.

Pick up some flowers, or a candle, or a note...or just stop by and stand in silence for a moment, remembering how we felt when our city was assaulted so brutally.

They did it for us. Not for America, not for Bush, but for New York City.

Fuck what the rest of the country might think. We are New York.

2. Even more info.
I posted this on another thread and added a link to this one.

Here's the info for the Spanish Embassy if you wish to send flowers and/or cards:

"2375 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W. - Washington, D.C. 20037.

The Embassy phone number, which you'll need to enter for Internet orders (I used 1800flowers.com) is 202.452.0100." (those are Insty's words but I used 800flowers too)

And some more info regarding memorials:

A book of condolences will be open at the Embassy (2375 Pennsylvania Ave NW) from 10 am to 2 pm today, Friday 12th and Monday 15th.

A funeral service for the victims will be held at St. Matthews Cathedral (1725 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington DC 20036) on Monday, March 15th, at 5:30 pm.

13. Thanks
But I think this will likely be my only foray here. I prefer blogs, forums such as these while fun to read get way to out of control posting to.

Take care.

6. I am a New Yorker first
and an American a distant second. I've been to America. It's a strange place. ;-)

Will do, although it will require a trip uptown.

I like you already. At the RNC convention look for the flag with the Seal of the City of New York. I'll be the guy carrying it.

thanks for goin' uptown.

Please try and keep this kicked for those who come on in the evening.

It is important.

Thanks to all of you, maybe see you there. I'll be in a black leather trenchcoat if anyone else feels like blowing their anonymity. Just call out Captain.

Send it out to them.

I think we should have a candlelight vigil in Washington Sq. on Sunday night - don't you think?
