In Motopia, running for office would cost nothing.

if i were king, or president, and thank god i'm not, i'd figure out a way for a person to run for elective office without spending a dime.
it costs WAY too much money to run. a person running for president has to have a 'war chest' of many millions. most of it goes to t.v. and radio and print advertising, which is expensive.

in motopia, where mo makes all the rules, any candidate who wanted it would have FREE air time. similar to what c-span has, although i know nothing is free, the costs would be covered by we, the people.
there would be a set limit, and there would be virtually no fundraising. NO donations would be taken from ANYONE, not a person, not a group. one would simply go on the free t.v. or radio or print venue, and say what he or she wants, and people who vote could watch, listen and read all about them.

this format would also be used for debating. but the huge piles of money, which i see as an obscene waste when there are so many hurting, would be eliminated. we waste enough billions in this country while so many are wanting, the money should be taken out of the election process.

also in motopia, beer and wine would be provided free, for all, along with a car.

Free advertising for registered candidates is something that should be demanded, as the people get no dividend from the billions of dollars that big biz-ness makes on our property every year.
