E- Voting: Tonight on Lou Dobbs with Dr. Rebecca Mercuri...Tune In!
Lou is on from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. I think we should all send e-mails about e-voting and see if he airs them. Here is the e-mail link....

'Face Off' on e-voting

Wednesday, March 10, 2004
Will electronic voting make the 2004 presidential election more accurate, or will it create far more problems with the voting system in the United States. Rebecca Mercuri, research fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and Mark Radke, director of marketing at Diebold Election Systems, debate the issue.

:bounce: Go Lou :bounce:

2. a question that I hope won't stir anything up . . .
I know that Dr. Mercuri has been on top of the electronic viting thing for a long time . . . I also know that Bev Harris has done amazing work on the issue, frequently with the help of various DUers . . . my question is: What is the relationship, if any, between these two fine crusaders? Do they work together? Do they support each other? Or have I detected some animosity between them at times? . . . anyone? . . . Bev? . . .

3. Dr. Rebecca Mercuri is great. She's the original pioneer
And the original pioneer for journalism on this is Ronnie Dugger, who wrote an article for the New Yorker in 1988 that identifed all this way back then.

Dr. Mercuri was one of the first people I consulted about this issue, and she is the first person I sent the Diebold files to (however, she did not receive them -- she had a post office box and I had sent them Fed X.)

She has done an amazing, persevering job for 14 years, and I think it is her work that stimulated Lynn Landes to write about this, and Lynn Landes's article was what triggered my interest.

That being said, we all pretty much work independently of one another. Truth tends to bubble to the top, and all of us see essentially the same thing. I am thrilled to see Dr. Mercuri on Lou Dobbs!

There was an interesting article in Newsday recently about Diebold lying and misquoting her research.

Bev

4. Go Rebecca!
There's only what, over 1200 computer scientists and professionals calling for voter verified paper ballots that they can talk to?
