If you're wondering just how low, how far the Bush Brown Shirts will go...
....

this is worth recalling: The Brooks Brothers riot.
Remember? Young Republican thugs sent to Miami during the Florida vote fiasco at the behest of the GOP powers that be to stop a recount at all costs. They were paid out of Bush campaign funds and later rewarded with high-paying government jobs that required them to do little..

http://www.consortiumnews.com/2002/080502a.html

snip:
"More than three decades apart, two political riots influenced the outcome of U.S. presidential elections. In 1968, protests at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago hurt Democrat Hubert Humphrey and helped Republican Richard Nixon eke out a victory. On Nov. 22, 2000, the so-called “Brooks Brothers Riot” of Republican activists helped stop a vote recount in Miami -- and showed how far George W. Bush’s supporters were ready to go to put their man in the White House."

and then this snip:

"After the Miami “Brooks Brothers Riot” – named after the protesters’ preppie clothing – no government action was taken beyond the police rescuing several Democrats who were surrounded and roughed up by the rioters. While no legal charges were filed against the Republicans, newly released documents show that at least a half dozen of the publicly identified rioters were paid by Bush’s recount committee."

they will stop at nothing. how will we respond?

1. If I was there I would have kicked some repub ass!
I was listening to Rush Limpballs when that was going on and he was saying that average citizens were pounding on the doors to get in because the counters were committing fraud. I would have gone right over there had I been in FL and fought against them.

We Dems play too nice sometimes.

Also the freeps that told Gore to get out of Cheney's house should have gotten their asses kicked also!

3. if they try this again, they will get some ass kicked
because I cannot imagine, knowing how many people around the country know about this moment, how there would not be fighting this time around.

last election, we mistakenly thought that those particular sorts of republicans still held to basic decency.

there are no such illusions anymore for many, many people.

I have no doubt that they manipulated the invasion of Iraq in order to do that before finding bin Laden, both to justify the invasion (with bin laden caught, Americans would not have been so easily mislead about Iraq), plus the value of an "october suprise" of trotting bin laden out in another "mission accomplished" bullshit moment.

I make sure I tell everyone I can that they can expect bin laden to show up just in time for the elections.

I honestly would not be surprised to know that the guy was on ice. I swear.

8. Maher referenced
OBL capture on last week's 'Real Time' in his opening - called it the 'october surprise'. 'Come on...aren't we all expecting it' The audience laughed and applauded.

Don't think it will work the 2nd time.

2. Right after the swearing in, the Democrats demanded an
investigation into Florida fiasco. Ashcroft came, he saw, and found nothing. The Democratic party looks like it found a back bone. They have to keep it. They are going to have to fight all these thugs 24 hours a day until the election, and maybe even after it. They really haven't done anything in 25 years. They are way out of shape and will probably need a lot of help from the rest of the country that is fed up with the goons in Washington.

5. There needs to be
Edited on Wed Mar-10-04 12:41 AM by bushwentawol
a little skull cracking going on. At the very least have an opposing protest group ready to go. My fantasy would be to have a bunch of outsourced workers at every major city mobilized. With this economy they shouldn't be hard to find.

Once those starch-shirted little sissies see our Teamsters guys wearing their union parkas, they will head back to their yuppie condos.

9. Who has the photo of that? They were all GOP Hill staffers
There was a photo where they were all identified.

It's all just one long beer-soaked frat party to these people.

11. The film "Unprecedented" highlighted their names...
and who they worked for. Catch it on Sundance, it plays periodically.
