DEM clothing for the little ones?
My daughter would like a Kerry t-shirt, but she's a very tiny 3rd grader. Kerry's site doesn't seem to have anything that small. Does anyone know where I might find something like that? If not, what about just some good old fashioned DEM t-shirts for her?

1. Boy, that's a good point.
You should send notice to the Kerry campaign that the next generation is looking forward to a Kerry presidency.

I know my three year old tells people he's her friend. (She met him at his announcement speech in SC) I would love a Kerry shirt for her, too.

Maybe we can petition PeteNYC to make our case?

2. DU sells kid-sized T-shirts!
http://www.cafeshops.com/du_store

The Donkey and ABB seem to be the only onea available in kids' sizes, though.

It seems also that there are a few Cafe Shops with kid-sized Kerry merchandise. Caveat emptor, though -- anyone can make a Cafe Shop.

3. Better yet...Make your own!
One thing I learned this year, while campaigning for Dean.....

Grass Roots promotional ideas.

All you need:

Ink Jet printer

Fabric transfer sheets

Plain, ole T-shirts (Union made in USA...of course).

Hot, Hot, iron.

and willing to burn a few midnight candles.

8. Use a hard surface to iron on as well. No padding.
Or the transfer will come out a little fuzzy.

4. Northern Sun...
has "lefty" t-shirts in kid's sizes, but none that specifically endorse a candidate. My kids love their shirts!

7. I LOVE Northern Sun --
I've been wanting the "Texas Home-Grown Dope" shirt for a long time.
But my kids would have a FIT if I wore it in public (and it wouldn't go over real big here in Okie-land, of course) I may settle for the one with the Ben Franklin quote about "they who would sacrifice essential liberty" instead.

9. I'm lucky enough to be about ten miles...
from their store! I go there periodically to update my bumperstickers and buy the occasional t-shirt. I picked up "Wild Women Don't Get the Blues" for $5 from the irregular rack and buy shirts for my family. Before my dad died, I sent him one that said, "Beer is God's way of saying He loves us and wants us to be happy."

I'm sooooo jealous!

I think I'll have to place an order with them -- it's been awhile.

Reading their catalog gives my kids some nice little social studies lessons -- starts some interesting discussions.

(i wanted the shirt that said "this isn't a prison, it's a high school". So many good ones from which to choose. The Rev. Niemoller quote ("first they came for the...") one is high on my wish-list. The "beer" quote on the shirt you got for your dad is from Ben Franklin, IIRC -- interesting, huh?)

12. My 13 year old...
...studies the catalog. He REALLY wants the shirt that says, "Somewhere in Texas, A Village is Missing an Idiot." I'd be a bit concerned for his safety if he wore that one around here.

6. I'll be 9 months pregant in September and I want a shirt...
...that says "Do my baby a favor, vote for Kerry" that I can wear when the repukes are here for their convention. I think I'm going to have to get that iron-on printer paper and make the shirt myself. That's what I'd suggest for your little girl if you can't find a ready-made shirt in her size.

10. rbnyc...I delivered on Sept.25, 2000.
I had a high risk pregnancy and was stuck in bed from midJuly, so I worked the phones like crazy for Gore. My phone bill was HUGE. heheh.

Then I was stuck in bed a bit afterwards and still continued to work the phones thru the recount. I gave the networks hell every chance I had, while gushing all over my sweetie pie.

16. Sorry you were stuck in bed...
...but you made great use of your time. You're so cool.

I wonder if your sweety pie and my sweety pie will share a birthday.

13. I have a cafepress shop and
(link in sig line)

I'd be happy to design and add any product you want.

They aren't cheap but I'll put the lowest markup possible (I have no interest in profitting off DUers...)

you can PM me with what you're looking for and I'll send you a link when the product is in place. (or send you a 'proof' of the design before I add the products)
