Did I say Hot Sex? I meant to say Tort Reform, but that doesn't get near as many hits. Just watched a half-hour infomercial on medical malpractice reform, ran on 2 local stations, it appears to be news type interviews with "concerned doctors" leaving practice due to high cost of malpractice insurance. Mentions "run-away jury awards" without offering any evidence (because there is none).
It gives an 800 # to call and voice support for a petition in favor of caps on jury awards...800 893 8080. It says tell Sen. John Edwards to support Sen. Dole's plan for caps. You call that number and they have no idea why you're calling, you have to TELL THEM!

I called my local stations and raised cain, told them I didn't EVER want to hear about the liberal media again. There should have been a continious scroll saying it was "paid political", and oposing viewpoiints should be offered.
I told them I had a study showing malpractice payouts over the past 30 years tracked the rate of medical inflation, while malpractice insurance premuims followded the ups and downs of the stock market. Yes, premiums have gone up, not because of "run-away jury awards" but bad investments by the insurance industry.
