I just noticed some excellent headlines recently
Over on LBN's first page, I saw three stories:

Bush Defends Economic Policies After Jobs Report
Bush Defends Campaign Focus on Sept. 11 Attacks
Bush Defends Record on Economy

The common thread here is that, in every one, boosh* is having to DEFEND his position. This, as I think Martha would agree, is A Good Thing -- and, IMHO, A Good Strategy. Don't give numbutz ROOM to attack -- only defend. Circumstances will probably take care of a lot of it, but we must be ready to capitalize on these openings.

With any luck, the media will stop referring to him as "the popular president," and start referring to him as "the beleagered president." And perhaps, as a bonus, the world will be treated to the spectacle of him totally losing it in public, due to the pressure.

The burner is lit. It's time to turn the flame a little higher.

2. thanks
Buns, for pointing that out. Domestic policy is his weakest area, and if he's defensive, more power to us.

5. Can not defend the shady way he financed his political climb
Harkin, offshore oil rights in the Persian Gulf, Rangers or everything that's an issue for our nation right now.

"Character?" Without a doubt.

That and "steady leadership," that's diving our country right into a crash landing with the ground.

*: "That guy sure is a bad pilot" - snicker sneer
