Bush off the starting blocks in Ohio...
Looks like the GOP want to get a real jump on the Kerry campaign in the Buckeye state! Damn, we need to get the Dem machine rolling there! (I personally think the Dem convention should have been held in Columbus or Cleveland.)

This from today's Cincy Enquirer at http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/03/06/loc_bush06.html:

By Cindi Andrews
The Cincinnati Enquirer

COLUMBUS - The first shoots of what Republicans are calling their strongest-ever grass-roots effort pushed to the surface Friday as the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign opened its Ohio headquarters here.

"We've been on the ground quite awhile," national campaign Chairman Marc Racicot said. "(But) the campaign takes a slightly different glide path now."

<snipping>

Bush's campaign here will start with eight paid staffers and 12,000 volunteers, Racicot said.

Strategists aim to expand that number to 50,000 volunteers, including volunteer leaders for 600 of Hamilton County's 1,013 precincts, according to Mike Allen, the campaign chairman for Southwest Ohio.

2. Yes, Ohio is important.
I'm in Ohio. I won't pay any attention to the *bush storm troopers. I'll help out all the local democrats for the rest of the year. I obviously won't have any spare time for kerry. Whats a girl to do? kerry has lots of union voters to help out. I hope they have time and experience....

3. A 'Columbus Convention' is a really good idea...
Wish someone had thought of that earlier! I could almost guarantee we would carry Ohio had we done that!

I lived and worked in that city for years. It's hard to describe what a big deal that would be to the Buckeye State.

It would be a sort of recognition of small to medium size cities everywhere...and Ohio sure has a lot of those!

Plus, I think, it is way past time for us to quit being so insular! Boston? Why? If we don't carry Mass., we are screwed anyway! Whose idea was that? They should get a demerit! lol.

Yeah, I like it. Ohio would pay us back if we did that. A lot of WV natives live and work in Ohio...but many of them vote here, in WV. Might help a little bit, that way, too.

Is it too late? Can we change the venue? Blame it on McAuliffe and can his ass? Can we? Huh?

Yeah, that's a really good idea!
