``The government is always harsh and retributive when they feel they have been lied to,'' Mr. Coffee said. ``As to prosecuting an anonymous vice president or the most famous businesswoman in America, this indictment tells everyone in the nation that securities fraud is viewed as a very serious offense.'' ...John Coffee...June 4, 2003

Martha Stewart Indicted on Criminal Charges
By KENNETH N. GILPIN

Martha Stewart, the home-decorating mogul who to many became synonymous with impeccable taste, was indicted by a federal grand jury today on charges of securities fraud, making false statements and obstruction of justice for her handling of a personal stock trade.

The New York director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kevin Donovan, said: ``This isn't about celebrity. It's about accountability.''

The stock sales occurred just a day before ImClone disclosed that its application to the F.D.A. for approval of Erbitux, its promising cancer drug, had been rejected because of deficiencies in the company's data. Earlier this week, a new study concluded that Erbitux is effective against cancer.

2. So where are the MAJOR Enron indictments ?
I guess they are somewhere under the covers of John Ashcroft's hospital bed, for now.

3. Well.. "sometimes" they are harsh & retributive
:)

KennyBoy is a different story,, He knows where the "bodies are buried"..He and * go waaaaaay back.. He gets the kid glove treatment...anyway..he has stashed the loot..

The retributive part was to demolish a rich and powerful woman's whole world.. Her company..her personal life..everything..

I wish she would turn the whole thing over to her daughter.. She will get it in the end anyway.. Just retire , Martha, and be her advisor...

4. Plus, she can have her hubris Epiphany best seller published by
her own company or bid out for more dollars. I would read (and purchase) hers before I'd think about KennyBoy's attempt at that.

No doubt about it. This was a modern day witch trial or something that rhymes with witch.
