Talk radio is targeting Kerry head on today....
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 05:20 PM by kentuck
Since they have now accepted that Kerry is going to be the Democratic nominee, every right-wing talking mush melon head is tearing down Kerry on their talk shows. Of course, they did not want to waste any of their pearls or bullets while the Democratic primary was still going on. So now, they are making up for lost time.

Every station on the radio dial is like a GOP commercial - and a negative one at that. They break away momentarily to ask, "What was FDR doing when Pearl Harbor was bombed?", as if that excuses the cowardly Bush from whatever he was doing on 9/11...But then, it is back to attacks on Kerry. One wonders, why do they need $150 million to spend on ads when they get twelve hours a day on every radio station in America, it seems?

But, is anyone really listening except those that have already bought into their garbage? Are they really convincing any new faces? Are they really simply singing to the choir? And from recent reports, that "choir" may be diminishing in numbers...

1. I think the effect of talk radio had to be overstated
After all, having the RW dominate the airwaves hasn't kept Bush from dropping below 50 percent in approval.

2. How is FDR relevant to Kerry?
FDR was probably in the hospital for polio at the time. Leg treatments or something. We know where Bush was. He was at a campaign stop in Florida. He has been wasting our tax dollars on campaigning everyday of his term. Scratch that. On days when his is working, and on only some of the days when he is on vacation. Anyway, he was being read to.

3. I heard that on the way to work
Tulsa is 'blessed' with 2 far right stations in a contest to see who can be the 'rightest.'

1 minute on 1170am,1 minute on 740am....pause to recover and try again.

....each time 2 negative things about Kerry.

I see 8 months of this 24/7.

Listeners will believe all the neg stuff and 'inform' all their friends and relations.

It can be argued that Kerry's good polls now are the result of the public hearing the democratic message everyday since January.

But now all they'll hear is anti-Kerry propaganda and republican lies - eg, 'unemployment under W is 5.6%.'

HOW DO WE GET THE DEMOCRATIC MESSAGE OUT?????

5. The question should be, however,
What did FDR do immediately after being told about Pearl Harbor?

6. His first words were
"That can't be right. You mean the Philipines."
When it was confirmed for him that it was, indeed, Pearl Harbor, he began making phone calls.

11. You mean he didn't
spend 20 minutes reading a book about..what was it...goats? He didn't then spend the next hours flying around the country to stay out of any danger? What kinda president was he, anyway? Oh, yeah...respected!

10. MY response would be: "He declared war on the country that attacked us"
Not Uruguay, for Christ's sake."

7. Clinton was on the other side of the world and still got to NY before Bush
All the airlines were shut down and yet President Clinton got to New York way before Bush* did. The only reason Bush* went there at all is because every other politician was already there.

8. FDR was doing everything he could
legally or otherwise to help our ally Great Britain in their struggle against the Nazis. In an atmosphere isolationism prevalent at that time in America, FDR did what he could.
